Default Attn: Drivers under 18...GET OFF THE ROAD!

I am not a happy camper! Earlier today this 17 year old stoner/skater/emo chick backed into my car with her Grand Cherokee. Well...she didn't really "back" into. She f'in floored it in reverse and smashed the carp outta me!

My house is right on the corner of Route 59 and *my street name won't be posted* in West Chicago. I was leaving to go down the street to get gas. I pull up to the stop behind this Grand Cherokee. She's turning left onto Route 59, as am I. She's already out past the white line and inching her way onto Route 59. Well she steps on the gas, notices cars coming very fast towards her, and all of a sudden I see her reverse lights come on. I quick lay on the Supertones and franticly try to throw it in reverse. Too late! Smashes right into my front end. I hop out and call the po-po. She gets out, lookin' all sorts of stoned to the bone, and says "Oh *****! I'm so f'in sorry! It sucks even more cuz you have a nice f'in car! MAN! Do you want to call the police or do you want me to just give you my info?" Screw that I say, I'm callin' the cops! They show up and luckily she tells them it was entirely her fault, and when explaining she says, "Well I was inching out onto 59 and saw cars coming real fast, so I put it in reverse and without even looking in my rearview mirror I floored it to get outta the way. Then, I smashed into his car." is what the cop does. This sucks. Talk about an inconvienence! GRRR! Here's some crappy cell phone pics.

So...recommend me your body shops. I want it to get done right and preferrably soon! So far I see the hood (obviously), the grille, the headlight bracket is smashed, the support behind the headlight is all twisted, the Supertones don't work, and I think that's it so far.

At least she was apologetic and admitted fault to the officer.

Try to see the good with the bad

Jeebus. Your hood looks so out of shape

It's a good thing she admitted to it.

Well I'm definitely happy that A) nobody got hurt and B) it was right in front of my house. Visually it doesn't appear that anything with the car is to out of shape, it's just a major PITA! Just sucks! Especially now when I've got a crapton of running around to do for the holiday!

Anybody ever had any luck getting the at-fault's insurance company to pay for a rental? I don't believe I have any rental coverage on my insurance. If my car is going in to the shop, I'll have no ride anywhere. I definitely don't believe in my having to pay a dime for her f-up.

Also, I see nothing on the accident report that shows the officer saying it was her fault. I know I have to fill out the back of the form saying what happened, but I'm worried with her being 17 that she'll suddenly change her story once her parents find out. I've got officer's name and badge number so I should be OK.

...which is exactly what I said to the girl when she started flipping out about being sorry and whatnot...and also why I'm not as upset as I thought I'd be if and when this day came.

if she got the ticket (i am assuming she did from your story)it was already determined that it was her fault. Call her insurance company. Luckily that doesn't look like that bad of a hit.

What insurance does she have?
The guy that hit me a week ago has StateFarm (like me) and his insurance paid for everything including the rental.
She still has to tell her insurance it's her fault that's why it's good to have her call them on the spot and start the claim.
I recommend Car Medics in Arlington Heights for the body shop. I just got my one month old car back this Saturday after being rear ended. Eddie did an amazing job and he's the greatest/honest person to deal with.

She has Liberty Mutual. And the cop did not give her a ticket...which I'm still questioning why not...

if i were you, depending on which insurance you got, just let your agent handle
the insurance side with liberty mutual. much easier that way.

LM is good, UPS uses them and they were quick to send me the deductible...
it was within 2 wks i had a check from them. (a UPS truck bumped my car
in the parking lot).

When ur car gets an estimate from her insurance company tell them about u needing a car while this one is getting fixed. The insurance company gave me $75 for to get a rental for two days when thier customers bike slid into my rear bumper on my integra. ( had a light scrath)

SHops that i will recomend are Estrada Customs www.estradacustoms.com ( really cheap too) and i get my work done at lincolnwood auto body at 847 982 1980.

also lot of people from the euro forums go to this shop. A&L autobody- 847 991 5620

I second Royal Coach. They are very professional over there. I could never afford paying for their services out of my pocket - but if it was a insurance claim I'd use them in a heartbeat.
