I think you're fine. I originally thought the same as k757, but just today I saw an '11 WRX with very, very dark overlays and the tails were still quite bright during daytime. LEDs FTW.

Does anyone know if the 2011s come with a minor manufacturer's tint 90-95% like some cars?

it's not necessarily, can you see them when you use them .. they have to be reflective too. check with your local PD.

They will just tell you, you need to take it off. Atleast, that would be what you would hear from any of them around here.

heres my 2011 freshly tinted. I have 35% tint on the front two windows and 20% on the back five.
The first picture is how they always look wether is bright or cloudy out....

the second picture gives you more of an idea the difference in tint... though it can be deceiving. they look much lighter than they really are.

Hope you like them

Probably a stupid question, but when people are saying they got 30% in the front does that include the windshield or are you not suppose to have tint on it? thx

As state above, more people probably should say 'Front Side' windows.

No state allows the entire front windshield to be tinted. Many states allow tint on the top several inches of the windshield, typically above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.

In NC, on the front windshield, we are allowed to use non-reflective tint, which must "allow in more than 35% of light."

I like your 2011 with the tint ;-)

I have a 2006 red wagon and went with 35% on the frt & rear side windows and 20% on the back 3 windows. On a bright sunny day, it would be nice to have darker tint -- when backing up at night, especially when it is raining, I am OK with what I have...

I do see cars go by all the time with much darker tint and just figure I must not use the 'right' place for my car inspections. I was already worried about having a red WRX so I figured I would not push it with darker tint all around.

I might have been able to tint the rear side windows darker, but the law in NC is kind of arbitrary w.r.t. going darker than 35% on the windows "behind the driver" -- it is permissible when the vehicle "either is constructed on a truck chassis or has special features designed for occasional off-road operation." I figure if I jacked up my WRX 3"-4" it might have been legal

Anyway, long winded answer to say that I like the look of your WRX

Note sure what the law is in other states, but apparently in the state of Texas the WRX Wagon is considered an SUV. This means that you can legally tint your back door windows and hatch window as dark as you want (or even black them out).

I wish Massachusetts was the same... we have to be 35% all the way around no matter what window its on. And no tint on the windshield unless its a 4 inch strip for the top.

uh those of you with low tints do you still wear sunglasses? Id imagine it would be difficult merging / backing up with sunglasses and low tint combined...?
