it's acutally called a dynamic damper
and you need one for each side

but easier to refer to as a bracket - so that i dont have to explain what it is over and over and over again.

yes of course i have a part number. one for LH one for RH

awesome!

thanks for your discussion.

okay so... i've since learned that i am a dork.

looking up the dynamic dampers.. they are ONLY for STi Brembos
these do not apply to the WRX 2 pots
and i am not sure how they got on my 'list' in the first place
(maybe that was a low caffiene day...!)

thus, the new price of the 2 pots, with backing plates + rotors is: $672.52
price is updated on the site.

and I'm a dork but it's FRIDAY!

cheers!

Cant agree with the dork assessment but I am glad it sorted that the set is even less. As I said in my e-mail, glad I could return the favor with some help for once.

Can you clarify the whole rear brake setup? I am curious if my BE shares any common parts with the 05 rear brakes, being that I already have the "H6" rear brakes do I have the correct rotors and backing plate? just wondering if my install would require less parts or work.

If you do not know that is fine, just let me know that you dont do you have any pics or part number comparisons I can see?

thanks!

Default Caliper questions

Jamie,

Can you confirm that the new '06 red 4-post DO NOT have the "Subaru" cast into the caliper like the old grey ones?

I test drove an '06 WRX Limited Wagon and took a close look at the front and rear brakes. Both front and rear calipers have a white "Subaru" sticker. The older style had "Subaru" cast into the caliper and then machined smooth so the words are shiny.

Also, it looks like the new grey calipers are the same way as the new red ones. Can you verify this?

I guess Subaru figured out it was cheaper to slap sticker on there instead of milling the calipers!

Yes, the new 4-pots do not have the "Subaru" cast into them. They're flat with the "Subaru" painted on. The old ones had it cast on the fronts w/ white paint over the top, and the old rear 2-pots had the "Nissan" milled off and "Subaru" painted on.

no 4-pots from subaru in this day come with the cast "subaru" lettering.

they are all a "sticker" of sorts now.
yes, even the old school gray ones.
they've superceded to a new part number
