+1 for Discount Tire (maybe it's called America's Tire in California)

Get their Car Care One card... then you can buy the tires and get like 6 months no interest to pay them off.

Ignore all the bashing comments on here, its not gonna get you anywhere.

Definitely can relate to you since I'm in high school as well and I've got myself an 02 WRX. I bought 17" rota tarcmac2's last year and picked up a set of Hankook Ventenus V-12 off of tirerack for about $450(call and ask them if they can get you a discount, i got 10% off)

If your completely set on not buying new, then check out Lehigh Valley Subaru Enthusiast's facebook page-- http://www.facebook.com/groups/182853303800/
Great deals floating around on wheel/tire setups as well as pretty much any other car part you can think of.

Also if your looking for a local shop that does good work, Stew's Tires in Schnecksville has great prices, especially if you order directly through him since his mounting/balancing fees are built into the overall price.

Pm me if you have any questions, Id be glad to help a local out

Noones bashing. If you cannot afford to properly run your car, you cannot afford the car.

I can afford the car... I'm just being cost effective. Do you run $3,000 tire set ups?

Not one person in here has said that you need crazy expensive tire setups.

But if you can't spare $400-500 for a full set of tires, you bought the wrong car.

I can spend 400-500. I don't want to spend over 700 or so. I'm only asking about a cheap place to go, not where to buy cheap tires.

you NEED to sell the car and buy a bus pass and forget driving until you grow some sort of logical thought process that allowes for free thought

this thread is ridiculous.....but shows the sad state of the young impreza driver today

there are lots of "generic" brand tires you can get for cheap. I would trust new tires over a set of used any day. I used to buy Nexen N3000 tires, they are a "performance" tread, and they go for around 100 bucks a piece.... I've run some Riken Raptor tires for awhile as well. both lasted me a couple years and I never had any issues with them.

I just had a bad experience using a "discount tire" place, had em put my old tires back on and got a refund. I started a thread on it. Anyhow, I bought tires from the Tirerack, got them the next day and had Wal-Mart mount and balance them for like $44. The same guys have been in the tire and lube at the wallyworld near me and I've never had a problem. If you bought off the Tirerack, tires would probably arrive in 1-2 business days in PA.

Nothing wrong with getting tires or anything off CL. I bought a set of used blizzaks a month or so after I got my car for $200. This is the third winter on them and I think I can get one more. Id say CL,tirerack.com or discount tire direct would be your best opitions price wise. Thers also the for sale threads on this site in your region, face book. Good luck.

You can certainly buy used tires on Craigslist if you know what to look for.

ALWAYS check date codes. Check tread depth, look for dry cracking, and make sure that there is no visible damage or irregularities. Your milage may very. I've found some pretty impressive deals on used tires that turned out to be awesome.

and theres nothing wrong with getting tires off CL either, but I would go and lookl at them in person before agreeing to anything. make sure they arent dry rotted, cracked, bubbled.... look for even wearing, no camber wear or more in f/r from fwd/rwd cars. as long as they are the right size in decent shape, dont turn away from CL. I've sold some great tires on there simply beacuse i didnt have the wheels or a car to put them on.

All I'm gonna say is this: If you are having trouble affording tires, you either need to get a job or find a new one if you already have one yet still can't afford tires. I'm 17 years old and own an 09 STi, all paid by myself from saving up money by roofing every day during the summer for two years. You shouldn't own a wrx if you can't afford to put tires on it, simple as that. That's like having your parents buy you a new set of golf clubs and then asking for a used trash bag to put them in. Prioritize what you buy for your car. I still have stock rims simply because I bought new tires first.

Tldr: If you're spoiled enough to have your parents buy you a WRX, the least you should be able to do is buy your own f'ing tires.

You have no clue what is going on in other people's lives. It's a shame to see our society belittling people for asking about a place to get a deal on some tires. Shame on you

How am I spoiled? I'm not buying shot tires for 50 each. I'm looking to save maybe 100 total on a Gently used tire. I never said I can't afford it... I work everyday after school 3-10. I'm just looking to find a couple good discounts.

Get your head out of your ass.
