Question Need more info for sti motor swap - hvac, motor and so on.

ok I am looking into doing or having the 2.5 sti full swap done to my car.

So here are the questions...

1) what is the difference on the 04 05 06 07 sti engines besides the turbo. If anything at all

2) what is the difference in the a/c heater between same years. Heard something about an auto hvac Do they have the same plugs per year or is the wiring different.

3) What year do you think would be best to have swapped? Why?

Note not concerned about immobilizer. As I have a auto start alarm.

General idea so far...

2.5 engine (year unknown)
vf30 pnp

Hvac from an sti

Keep the 5mt ppg box

Current car condition

Thanx for the info ahead of time. Sorry I am a noob to a full engine swap. So questions might seem a bit out there

07 engine coolant passages on the block are different.....smaller. Many of the 07's have problems with cracking ringlands.

05 was the fastest tested sti that I know of

04 is the only year to have a different auto hvac setup, probably 05+ use the same plug.

BTW...dont listen to Parkes, he doesnt have anything of use to say besides "moter". Do what you want to do with your car and dont listen to nay-sayers.

Well considering my area I live in I want to have 300whp without outragious mods on a 2.0L. As they have refs. If the cop suspects you have illigal mods he sends you there and you have to nearly go back to stock.

Also consider I have nearly 163k miles on my 2.0L. General life expectancy is only 200k. As well one head already has a problem. I also have several oil leaks forming.

Why the sti 2.5. As one the ref as it's a usdm motor. Two I love the way it drives. Torque of that motor is awesome. With my vf30 I should pull over 300whp with minor mods.

Wondering if I want to attempt the swap or have it done. I am hearing thigs from the swap guy that makes me thing he does it the cheap and easy way. Yet I have several questions I just asked him. If any comments please feel free to say something.
