Default FXT and WRX climate control the same wiring?

I've read a lot about engine swaps and wiring, but have yet to do one. I'm going to undertake my first swap in the coming months: an 04 FXT engine into my 99 GM6. What I'd like to do: put an FXT engine and 05 WRX dash into my GM6.

I know that dash swaps are difficult, but i've seen enough GC/GM/GFs out there with them to know it's possible. And I love a challenge. But here are some preliminary assumptions i'm working on, based on what I've read here. Please read these assumptions and let me know where i'm going astray. As always, thanks for the help!

1. Swapping all the wiring from the donor car is easier than splicing the engine harness to the dash harness and getting everthing to work. It does present a problem, though: my FXT dash wiring won't work with my GM6 instruments.
2. The most straight-forward fix to this is to swap the instruments (gauge cluster,HVAC, etc from the donor car too.
3. Since 04-05 FXT uses the same EJ257 longblock, injectors, and ECU (albiet with a different map) as the 04-06 STi, the wiring should pretty much all be the same. My big assumption is that the dash harnesses are also the same.
4. My second big assumption is that though the controls are different, the climate control wiring from MY04 is the same as MY05.
5. If these assumptions are indeed true, it would stand to reason that the wiring for the 04 FXT's climate control unit would be the same as that in an 05 WRX. If this is the case, the 05 WRX/STi climate control should be fairly plug and play with an 04 FXT harness.
6. If all that's true, then the wiring won't be the hard part...the hard part will be fitting the dash.

So, what do you think? Am I missing something major here, or does this make sense?
