Bosal Twin Tip Catback 3"
Recently picked up a used Bosal Twin tip catback and installed it today.
It had approx. 10,000 miles on it, some road snot on it but was still very shinny and the polished stainless cleaned up very easily. Install was simple because everything was a good fit. I used stock hangers. The cone gasket didn't fit into the Bosal as far as the stock mid pipe, and getting the spring bolts to squash up enough required vise grips and channel locks. I suggest cutting the springs in half for an easier fit (which I haven't done yet, gonna tomorrow). Fitment was perfect. Length of the unit is good, side to side motion is good with my stock hangers, and where the tips sit at the exit point is very good with stock hangers, not too tight, not too high, not too low. The tips do stick out approx 1 inch beyond the bumper, but that looks good too. Sound. Some people say the Bosal Twin is too loud. I disagree. It's gotta nice blub blub blub blub at idle, similar to Scoobysport or Stromung or Greddy. Very motorcycle-ish. As RPMs increase it smooths out well. I get a lot of interior resonance at around 3krpms with a dash vibration, but that goes away after 3200rpm and up. My wife commented how we were still able to hold a regular conversation at cruising speeds without speaking up. No ricey buzz with this exhaust, just the boxer blub blub blub blub. On my initial test drive I even passed by a cop, he never gave a second look. The Bosal catback is one of the cheapest out there. Well worth the money imho. If your're concerned about it being too loud, then get the single tip. Same boxer sound, better than stock sound thats for sure.

i had this exhaust on a for a few weeks. . the exhaust drones on the highway. . .i had my music on and i couldn't hear it unless i turned it up real loud. . .but if you don't care about the sound. . this is the perfect exhaust. . sleek twin tip design and a significant power increase. . my car actually felt slower when i switched to the 5zigen fireball. . maybe because of that huge resonator

Yup, I do a lot of following traffic around, never had a chance to just cruise for along time until yesterday and today. If all the windows are up it is louder inside the car than out. The exhaust really isn't loud, but the pulse from inside the muffler can be heard/felt inside the car. Its weird, like the whole car has been transformed into a hollow muffler.
I can deal with it though. I really like the sound of the car now. A local buddy said he can hear the turbo spool up thru the muff. I'd say the catback is 75% good thing, and the drone (whap whap whap whap) and pulse that comes with it is 25% bad. I have a wagon, so maybe some matting is in order. Probably not so bad in a sedan. |

If you are going to use it with the Turbo XS dp, you don't need the race pipe, you need the Turbo XS catback adapter. This is my exact setup right now.

i was going to put this catback on mine 05 wagon as well. I have a invidia up and dp. Will this unit fit right up to the dp? I was also considering the invidia single tip catback too. Does anybody know if the invidia is louder or not?

I have a sedan and I have a downpipe and this bosal catback with the stock midpipe. The resonance is minimal, but i've heard bad things about resonance with this exhaust on the wagon so make sure you ask some wagon people or check one out on a wagon before you buy.

I just wanted to add video of the Bosal 3" catback with a stromung downpipe on my car at local autoX. Check it if you want to, and if it stops working you can find the video in the Solo gallery section of sccaWNY "Drews Run"
