Default what main bearing do i order?

Hello, I did alot of searching here and on nasioc but came up empty. I need to order some main bearings but I see the websites give a #3 and a #5 as the size. how do I figure this out lol. my micrometers or calipers only measure in inches and or millimeters not by gauges or what ever that means. also, I see I can get ACL race bearing or Clevites. I see everyone likes the ACL's but on the info on them it states that they will only last for DD and limited competition use. I am use to rebuilding small and big block chevy's and so i use Clevites to build them and they take a good beating and last. Is there really a measurable advantage to using ACL's or Clevites? I also plan on coating them with swaintech's coatings.

#3 and #5 refer to thee placement of the thrust bearing assuming its a 96 or newer block it will be #5. Thrust, as for clevites, give them a try let us know how they go, most people just stick with Why they know, they don't really feel like " trying something " on a motor they are dumping thousands into

1998 or newer is rear thrust (#5)....

Most people use ACL as they're good and cheap.

id go with cosworth main and rod bearings, there a little more expensive but they will last no matter the beating.

Besides, the bearing quality only matters in moments of oil starvation...

Even after hearing that ACL makes the Cosworth bearings?

ACL even makes the OEM bearings but that does not mean all bearings are identical...

I'd still be willing to lay a wager that the fault was not with the bearings themselves.
