Numbers are hard to understand. Maybe they want to adopt a more detailed naming method, such as the:
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X MR Touring Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C Type RA-R Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works GP Package |

actually if you look at studies, the buying public psychologically associate the cryptic naming system for cars with being more premium.
They may be better off using a coding system for the cars that is a bit more logical... As soon as they give them actual names... the cachet of the brand is diluted. |

This was the reason Lincoln dropped their traditional, storied names for alphabet soup. Of course, no one has any idea what name goes on what car though |

I hate BMW numbering system. You would have to be a genius to know what all the models meant.

ie: 325 is a 3 series, 2.5 liter engine. Anything with an x is all wheel drive, not sure what the other letters mean. |

Volvo's naming system is not really confusing. S is for sedan, V is for Wagon, XC is for Crossovers 40 is small car, 60 is medium size, 80 is large 50 and 70 are wagons. Seems pretty simple to me. |

Oddly enough ti used to mean dual carbs on the 2000s and 16-2002s and tii indicated fuel injection, but that was a long time ago. |

Yeah the latest ones are only r-design. The new C30 r-design also has a different steering rack but they don't really sell enough cars or turn a profit to make a true R model anymore.
For the US market, the r-design suspensions is a massive difference in handling from the base model. They feel like different cars. |

its fast enough for my wife, she tends to drive faster proportional to her cars horsepower and also ride people's ass closer porportional to HP. and...the much contended point....it was faster 0-60 and 1/4mile than my 04WRX that i traded a couple weeks ago.(my own personal testing)
