Default Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec

I know folks peruse other boards where this has already been posted but Tirerack has the ZII Star Specs up for sale now in STU/STX friendly sizes.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....+ZII+Star+Spec

From what I understand they technically aren't legal to use until after Nationals, but I'm not going to Nationals and need some new tires so I ordered a set.

Tire Rack lists the tread wear rating as the same as regular ZII's so I wonder what the difference will be?

Like the last time it'll be a compound change with a possible carcass change. I haven't seen the tread yet to see if there's a difference there, but if it's like last time it'll be the same.

Top part looks like it's saying the star specs offer 1% increase in performance for two different laps, the cornering picture no idea. The next one, also no idea, but maybe heat getting to rubber due to less air pockets? The third one is showing tire heat retention after 3 laps. Red = hotter, obviously.

Anyone done a comparison of these to anything else yet? I need some ST autocross tires for my 99RS soon and TR has no info yet. I know they won't be SCCA legal till next year.

I don't have any numbers etc, but love them so far. Feel slightly softer than the original zii's. All I have to add...
