I'm looking to do some shifter comparisons now. Hoping to get some more measurements from the stock gearbox and knob, with various shift levers: Quote:

Spt:
5 6.375 7.875 I have 20% all around and 50% on the windshield. A year later it is much lighter- so unless you get the ceramic stuff that is something to be considered. I LOVE my tint now (felt like a cave at first), only time it's a problem is backing up at nigh. I've been pulled over for it once; and 30% is legal in MD. No actual "legal" issues, but I don't drive like an a$$ and am obviously a responsible adult when dealing our service members in the community. |

I think I'd probably get the good tint, so hopefully it wouldn't change. I think 30% or so will be OK for me. I'm not looking to go overly dark. Quote:

Are the two factory ones the stock and STi short throw? I have that option on my car but it never felt very short to me.

what's the difference between spt and sti short throw? is it that if you buy it after you already have the car instead of as an option they call it spt?

Same thing. It is made by "SPT" (as are all Subaru add-on's), but listed as "STI Short Throw". I usually call it SPT to avoid confusion with the 6 speed tranny.

It's hard to tell with them not all lined up but it almost looks like the SPT has a shorter throw than the kartboy.

The Kartboy and SPT are both more notchy than stock, but that's expected. Neither are notchy to the point of being bad. The Kartboy is marginally more notchy than SPT, but actually less than I expected. I was kind of surprised. I could definitely use either. Sometimes I do prefer the taller lever that the SPT has. The height is also a reason I sometimes like the stock knob over your round one (and this is why I really want a piston ). I definitely prefer the feel of the weighted knob though. I occasionally swap knobs back and forth. Usually use the heavy one though.
