Default Rallying this week

TSN are showing Rocky on Sunday 8am with a repeat @ 9pm

Baie is the next round and that's next weekend so the RR truck has to leave this weekend to prepare. Logistics is huge for RR these days what with the rally cars (Pat's, Hardy's etc.) + Yokohama tire support + Subaru technical support + Subaru apparel support.

Good luck to all the locals.

Only the first two stage results in so far and things look interesting...

Antoine started the rally in a Subaru. Something happened to his EVO and Crazy Leo has leant him his spare car. CanJam helped out with putting some extra serious kit into Leo's car to be more competitive (Reiger suspension etc.).

Pat's won the first 2 stages and Antoine back seem to have incurred a 1 minute penalty each for a late check-in. That's unusual for so many teams unless Nat made an error and everyone behind just followed suit thinking they must be wrong.

6 stages in total today (leg 1). Two legs tomorrow completes the rally.

It's going to be interesting.

Ok, so the EVO had diff issues and it was a choice between try and fix it or switch cars. CanJam and Rocket Rally crews put their skills into Crazy Leo's backup car to get a competitive ride for Antoine and Nat.

Now that's rally.

The last time I remember seeing Antoine in a Subaru was PFR 04 and if I remember correctly, he finished second.... to Pat in Pat's other car! I love the friendliness of rally!

They're either with Antoine and Nat, or against them.

Leg 2 is underway this morning and Pat's won all but one of the stages. In that stage he must have had a moment because he came right back on the pace.

He's now almost 3 minutes ahead of the pack which has Crazy Leo and Antoine swapping times for 2nd and 3rd.

It's not in the results yet but looks like Antoine just had a flat and dropped to 7th. Not a lot of stages left now. So what do you do? Flat out and risk breaking Leo's car to beat him to 2nd place or just take what you can get?

It's not mean to have a little fun with a tongue-in-cheek comment.

Just one stage to go and Pat's well ahead. Antoine's way down the order so that's job done for this rally although not as exciting as Pat likes it.

Summer break now until early Sept (Defi) followed in early October by our local PFR.

Pat wins, Leo second. Pat lost nearly 3 minutes to Leo on the final stage.

Flatovercrest shows that Pat rolled 4 miles from the end of the final stage, lit on fire, extinguished the fire, then proceeded to win the rally.

glad they are ok.

“I was relaxed and just lost concentration a bit,” said Richard. He clipped the inside of a right hand corner, rolling the car slowly. “We flipped into the trees and then back onto the road.”
Luckily, the car landed on it’s wheels and the team were able to continue, though they lost about a minute. The team crossed the flying finish of the last stage, the famous Baie jump, with flames pouring out from under the hood.
congrats on the win!!

I suppose he just had to make it interesting.

That's the stage he finished on 3 wheels last year. This year rolled and on fire for the spectators. What's next for 2011?
