I am with you. It's funny how Subaru labels it as "Orange Pearl". It looks like Matte Orange with clear coat over it.

Yes, two of the three Forester's were base models. One was a middle trim level.

i don't hate the color, the graphics are a poor attempt at something that might be cool in some other completely different way, i am however jealous of the black headliner/upper trim peices.
