Default Where do newer subarus go to die?

So I've been searching for a few weeks now, and I haven't been able to find any scrap yards, local or otherwise, to pick up a few replacement parts for my 08 hatchback. Does anyone have connections, or knowledge on where to look for exterior parts? My rear bumper cover fell victim to my fart can exhaust (please keep judgement to yourselves) and now that it's realigned I'd like to pick up one sans hole. I'd also like to pick up a hatch trim piece in WRB to match my car and get rid of the only chrome piece on my entire car. Any info would be helpful, and thanks for reading!

because subarus hold their value really well insurance companies fix them most of the time so you wont find newer models in a scrap yard unless they are almost completely destroyed.

Yeah, it's been a whole ordeal. I was fine at stage 1 with my stock downpipe, the donut gasket pushed it out enough for clearance. I went all the way from salt lake to denver and it didn't even warp. As soon as I went stage 2 though it tucked it back from the stock downpipes position and I knew I would have trouble. I tried ordering some kartboy hangers but they were out of stock at rally sport direct, so I went to a local exhaust shop thinking they would have some since that's what they do all day. Instead of telling me they didn't have any or they didn't sell larger hangers they proceed to pull my car into the bay and weld a washer on one hanger and bend 2 others to "realign it" while I was in the waiting room. Even after I told the guy I thought it was still too close he continues to tell me it will be fine and if I have any trouble to come back.

Well about a month and a half later I notice a small hole that's melted in the surrounding plastic and take it back to them. I simply said I paid you guys to realign my muffler to prevent melting my bumper and it still ended up melting a hole in it, so what can we do about the situation? I never once brought up refunds or new parts and was immediately met with a hostile attitude and told it was my fault since I drive a lowered car, I must have bottomed out somewhere and forced my muffler into my bumper cover and they certainly weren't buying me a new bumper if that's what I'm after. If I had bottomed out somewhere my muffler would be trashed and it's not. I can post pictures for proof. If they had apologized and said "here we can build you a heat shield and hide the hole," even if they had to charge me for it, I wouldn't be so ridiculously angry about the situation. Then when the **** bag got in my car to back it out because they wouldn't let me do it they redlined my engine until I yelled at him to stop. Their corporate office won't call me back and the business is basically telling me to go **** myself. Great customer service.

I like the notes my exhaust puts out, and the stock bumper cover hides how large it is. Now that I have larger hangers and dropped it enough for clearance it looks great by my opinion, and since it's my car that's all that really matters. Now I'm just trying to source a new cover and fix the **** work from a local business. Lesson learned, only me or my dyno shop is allowed to work on my car. Sorry for the novel, but that's the whole situation.

I haven't seen that, no. From the pictures it looks like a lot of older stuff. Would they have newer parts?

I'm not sure what you're attempting to make fun of me for. Are you calling me a child because I'm trying to source a new bumper cover? The troll is weak in you. I'm sure there's some other little fan boy you can get all riled up today, keep searching, you'll get 'em!

Easy there, killer.

I'm still enjoying mine...I wanted to drive it off a cliff in stock form but now it's no worse than a 09 or 10 in terms of handling..All it needs is a VF52.

I knew Uncle Scotty would be getting his .02 in. This thread has gotten out of hand.

Yes I've tried car-parts.com, and I will be looking into the place from Connecticut. Thank you to the people who are giving real suggestions.

Nowhere did I say I was trying to turn my wrx into an sti d00000d, I'm perfectly happy with my car performance wise and as a dd. I don't really care who thinks what of what year, I'm sure you can find people to vouch that every year of wrx's suck on this site. I'm looking for parts not opinions.

So what exactly does an 09 have that my car doesn't, other than a VF52? The springs/struts, sway bars, and tires have already been replaced. It IS the same car. The differences are not nearly as vast as a WRX vs STi.

Thats exactly what I'm looking for! Some kid who thought his subi was a rally car and slammed the front end in to something leaving all the parts in the rear intact for me

Now where the hell do those wrecked subarus go after the insurance company totals them out?

Yes a new cover is only like 200 bucks, but paint matching/blending, cost of materials, and labor, will end up sky rocketing on price. That's why I was trying to source a used one in decent condition that would only need to be blended, cutting my expenses drastically.
