Anyone using Prodrive 330mm Brake Kit?
Hello,
I am in need of new brakes, might as well get a whole better kit instead. Is there anyone out there using these brakes? Whats the downside of these things, I know they perform well, shoot 13.2inches, but I mean, where do I find a good deal on the kit, and how hard how the replacement pads to get? I am either deciding to get this Prodrive set, or the 4-pot Subaru setup which I know has pretty good results.

I have the Prodrive brakes. Great calipers, gigantic cast iron rotors. If I had it to do all over again, I'd likely get one of the AP Racing 4 piston kits (I know Cobb sells them, probably others). They weigh less and use 2 piece rotors. Getting pads for any of the aftermarket kits that aren't either Subaru factory or closely related to Porsche brakes (such as the Mov'it kits) is often difficult. I had to special order pads from Pagid.
The regular, cast iron STI 4 piston kit is a completely different beast. For the money, it is a nice upgrade, but doesn't hold a candle to any of the kits I mentioned above. Honestly, unless you are taking your car on the track, going beyond the STI kit isn't going to be much use. Ben |

Hi Guys
Glad you like the kit, if you needed new parts why didn't you come to me? I appreciate the AP may be a little lighter but we went for a one piece disc for several reasons, you have to remember our parts are Dealer / Importer fit in a lot of countries All our parts are now (or soon to be) available from The Tire Rack (www.tirerack.com) Cheers Simon |

They are beautiful calipers. That's for sure. I was also dissapointed they didn't use a 2 piece rotor. Weight savings is the second most important reason I'm doig a brake upgrade. I'll probably use the GDB Brembos myself and snag some 2 piece rotor from Endless.

I visited my car this week and saw the new Prodrive 330s on my car. It was love at first sight. I will post results when I get the car back from the most recent barage of mods. Can you say 300+ HP? I knew you could.
