Default Tire size on 7" rims

Howdy everyone.

I have a dilema for tires. I'm using Prodrive 7x17" rims and for several years i've run 215/45/17 on these rims. It's come time for new tires as i'm down to the metal in some spots unfortunately the tires I want while they do come in a 215/45/17 size are not available in that size and backordered for 8-10 weeks. However, they have that tire available in a 225/45/17. Which I'm thinking will fit just fine on the 7" wide rim but I'd like to get an idea if the wider tire will buldge significantly and if I may have any rubbing issues.

Car is a '02 WRX with springs that lower it by about 1/2", the rims are P7's which have an offset of +52mm, the tires i'm looking at are the Dunlop Sport Maxx's.

Thanks.

The 225/45-17's will fit with out a problem.
I am running that same rim on my own car with a 225/45/17, and have no problems.

Thanks

While I do not have your exact rims, I am running 225/45/17 on a 7" rim without any issues. Probably the the narrowest you could or want to go with a 225. I wish I had gone 7.5 or 8 inch for a stiffer sidewall.
