Default So whose body is affected when there are sudden weather changes?

Right now in Chicago the weather is going from unseaonably warm to normal conditions and the pressure and temp are going to change soon... When stuff like this happens I sometimes have cold-like symptons and it sucks. Right now my throat is getting scratchy, my sinuses are screwed and my asthma is acting up.

It's been documented that changes in barometric pressures cause changes in joint pressures as well. That's why your grandmother is always right when she says it's gonna rain.

I used to have a trick knee that would let me predict rain, but since I started cycling again it's stopped doing that.

That reminds me. Had a humbling experience with my dad last weekend. He got into one of his dizzy spells without his meds and we were on the side of the interstate for an hour while he was puking. Then we made it to a toll booth and we stopped for another 2 hours. He made the hour trip home from there with his head in a garbage bag. Helpless feeling FTL.

I get bronchitis when I fly into a city with totally different weather than I'm used to.

Take for instance my trip to Maine. I'm SOOO sick right this moment.. it sucks. Cause it was cold as balls there (to me) and now it's back in the 90's duirng the day here.

when I was 16 I had a motorcycle wreck and a steel rod put in my right shin to fix the break.

Now if the weather changes drastically I can feel it in my leg. 14 years later....

And my wife can feel it in her face, she had reconstructive surgery on her face and jaw after a car wreck, and has Titanium pieces and screws in her jaw and upper lip area, near the sinus cavities. Weather changes kick her ass

My right ankle gets stiff and hurts when the weather changes quickly. If it's really bad my knee will hurt as well. I've broken almost every bone in my foot as well as the bones above and below the knee, and a shattered kneecap that was replaced. I'm pretty good at predicting weather.

I broke my arm about 9 years ago and have a plate in my arm. The whole area between my elbow and wrist will ache when the weather is screwy.

I never believed that when I was a kid, but as I've gotten older and my knees have gotten bad, I believe it fully. I can always tell when the barometric pressure drops because my knees get sore.

Same here, I cut 2 fingers off my left hand 20 years ago and they mended it all together with surgical chicken wire.

I can feel it coming.

A couple months ago I chipped the bone in my left thumb (hurt like a mother f'r). It sucks too, because It ended up getting a pretty good calcium build on it so now i get arthritis .

So now, whenever the weather changes, usually when a front blows in and the barometers drop, My thumb will start aching. I hate it. 21 and already have arthritis.

I get wet everytime it rains and dogs come in smelling like "wet dog".

You can tell the weather is changing by watching our dogs. they are 11 and the pit/boxer mix had surgery for torn ACL's in both hind legs when she was a year or two old. Both dogs have joint problems these days. We have to take shorter walks when the weather changes. (you know, to avoid the rain, haha) They both take glyco supplements and pain pills.

I get sick when the weather changes. Here in AZ, we can have 30+ degree temp changes in one day.

Yeah, I'm feeling feverish and coming-down-with-a-coldish today. The weather's been all over the place in the last week...from bone dry to stupidly humid, from the 40s overnight last week to a predicted high of 85 tomorrow. Bleh.
