Installed an STI grill, debadged of course.
I got my Polk DB651 speakers installed at all four corners today and a 2012 WRX Catback. The headers I bought didn't come with O2 sensors or a midpipe . Will have to get those and go back again. Adapters by Phenryiv For now it sounds good inside and outside the car Also did the Home Depot lip, I think it came out well for the price. Anyone wanna chime in on the UEL headers/ O2 sensors/ Midpipe? If you've done it to an 08+ please help... |

You need to cut the flange, rotate it, extend the mid pipe to connect, add an o2 bung. Their is a few threads about how it's done. I was going to do the swap but, I ended up selling the exhaust header I had and made $100 off it |

Aftermarket that was the first thing I got and then followed 2 10" subs. With custom box and a amp my bro in law gave me. That was a great set up bt man my vocals were lacking. So now I have speakers, and now looking to get an amp for them so I can fine tune them a lil better.

Anybody have any luck fitting the SPT ladder brace on the 06-07s? I just got a really good deal on one, tried installing it and it ran in to my exhaust too much. I could force it in there and bolt it down to make it fit but I don't want to risk putting too much stress on the exhaust.

Seriously, I tried putting the ladder brace on and it wouldn't bolt down properly without running in to where the midpipe and the headers meet. I tried bolting it down to force it in to place and when I did it caused the midpipe to move out of alignment and I could hear an exhaust leak so a gasket wasn't properly sealing because of the ladder brace.
Does anyone know if there's a heat shield I can take off of that part of the exhaust in order to make enough room for the ladder brace to fit properly? I thought about using washers but I'm a little uneasy about that. |

I did the OEM WRX header mod. Just get the right flanges and someone to weld, and you're good to go:

I don't really want to replace my headers to get a ladder brace to fit. I have thought about it but my options for headers require either replacing the whole exhaust system to get 02-05 UELs to fit or spending $600 on rallisport racing headers. I'm hoping I can remove the heat shield that is there to make the ladder brace fit.

Isn't it cheaper and more easy to just install Borla headers?

They don't make Borlas that fit with the stock '06-'07 exhaust.

That's bad. I just know, they also fit 2.0 N/A Bug- and Blobeye, and they have an E-Sign, which the replicas don't have.

We also have a different front sub frame which may effect the fitment of that brace being installed. |

The brace is an 02-07 GD brace, the problem is it was made for a WRX or STi and not a 2.5i. The engineers at Subaru didn't take in to consideration the location of the exhaust on the 2.5i when designing the SPT ladder brace. I haven't checked again but I'm pretty sure I can remove a heat shield to make it fit.

Alright guys, finally got a new exhaust. I was originally going to go with a Nameless axleback with mufflers due to the MN state law requiring mufflers. I was planning on just waiting until spring but happened to land upon this instead.
08-10 SPT dual exhaust I found this locally from a guy who just recently sold his WRX. To my surprise he only lives 5 minutes away so it was even better. Ended up picking it up from him for $200. As you can see it definitely needed some cleaning. Here's a couple before and after shots. I think it cleaned up very well. This exhaust came with the gaskets, but I wanted to play it safe so I bought all new hardware and gaskets. I also cleaned up all the flanges. I ordered the SPT exhaust kit. Here is a item number and what is included if anyone is interested. D441SFG100 (SEDAN only) I also got new spring bolts, springs, nuts, and donut gasket for the cat to midpipe flange. I almost decided to not get any of that but thankfully I did because the spring bolts snapped instantly after removing them! The part numbers for those are as followed. Spring Bolts = 44059AA010 (x2) Springs = 44044AA010 (x2) Nuts = 802008270 (x2) OEM Donut Gasket = 44022AA123 (x1) |

Here's a picture of the cat to midpipe installed.
Here's the tail end of the mid pipe with the ring gasket on. Just for reference here is some size differences from stock to SPT. Here it is installed. So far I'm loving this. Sounds great and looks great to me. I'm pretty positive the stock 2.5i piping on the sedan goes from 2.5" at the cat down to 1" at the axle piping. Pretty sad. The SPT I believe is 2.5" from the cat all the way and then the tips are 3". I have not noticed any increase or decrease in performance. |
