My car only sees pavement so I'm not too worried about rocks, twigs and branches getting caught up in there.
Road kill and shredded 18 wheeler tires on the other hand...

primitive and wicked look to cover best. The beatrush looks all nice and conformed, but I want my plate to cover stuff....not look pretty. I made one that looks like the wicked and primitive 1/8's...which is all you should need unless you're driving terrible roads that your car shouldn't be on

If I'm reading Laile's page correctly, http://www.laile.co.jp/jpn/products/.../guard_sb.html, the Beatrush undertray is 5.00mm thick duralumnium (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duralumin). FWIW, of course.
Edit...just spent some time here, http://item.rakuten.co.jp/laile/s5up60160/, which is saying it is 2mm thick not 5mm. Perhaps the "rally" version is the thick one they were referring to, http://item.rakuten.co.jp/laile/a560161/#a560161. Last edited by JPM Coachworks; 11-04-2010 at 01:00 AM. |

But do you have a Fumoto valve?
I met the Wicked Innovations people at the last WBM and they seemed really cool. I was going to come back towards the end and pick up a skid plate from them but lost track of time and they were closed by the time I went back. I'll have to give them a call and see if they can do anything regarding the Fumoto valve. |

Also weight wise, how much does each one weigh around? Plus the websites that go to each one. Good idea for a thread

I think people look too far into this, just get a stop sign and bolt it on

Some people no longer have the stock plastic splash guard and need some sort of protection from debris such as rocks, branches, animals, shredded tires, etc. It also helps keep sand/snow/salt/water from getting all over the undercarriage and rusting things up. Other people actually rally their cars and need a beefier skidplate to protect the underbody from damage. I know a few people that have done this, but it's super illegal. Some people have said you can find old signs at junk yards for cheap. |

^have fun with paying over $200 plus tax and shipping for that. there are others, including primitive and DRT (from what was mentioned above) that are cheaper and just as good, if not better, than the RA plate. ive seen the RA plate after being delivered, at is wasnt nearly as in good condition as the DRT and primitive plates ive seen. yeah yeah..."but its a skid plate, its meant to get messed up." maybe so, but not when its brand new.
Rally Innovations have excellent light bars btw. |

Made from recycled street signs purchased at a scrap yard. Not strong enough for real racing, but it keeps the gravel/dirt/mud/water out of the engine bay.

That came out great. Do you have a write up or dimensions of that? Also, what type of nuts/bolts did you use? I've thought about using a wing nut or cotter pins in order to make removal faster for oil changes and maintenance.
