I was "told" these issues had been resolved. haha I was told all issues had been fixed using the iwg. Still people seem to need to swap to a ewg. I hate to sound like this but man there sure seem to be a lot of claims here with nothing to back it up.

BTW since Ive been on the steamspeed band wagon... Ive run a few blouch turbos aswell as the Steamspeed stx67.

I recently bought a rather built 2011 wrx hatch with a blouch 2.5xtr 3" inlet, 8cm turbine housing, IWG. Can we say INSTASPOOL!!!! "with a perrin fmic" The car also has a massive crack in the uppipe which must be killing spool. Yet still INSTASPOOL!!! I find this interesting... I bought it for a new DD so I can take the forester to the next level.

They have quite a few twinscroll in different sizes but my choices came down to either a gtx3071 or the 76 for what I was chasing. The turbine area ratio is 0.64 which is essentially a 9cm in blouch language.

I take claims of anyone saying instaspool in a subaru that isnt running a lowmount with a huge grain of salt. Especially if they're not running an EFR. Go drive a well setup non-subaru with an EFR and see if you still think anything with 15 feet of exhaust pipe before the turbo is instaspool.

Go drive a turbo car-with nitrous. THATS Instaspool.

I more meant compared to anything ive seen personally or heard claims of on a Subaru.

Yes I strap more then just subarus down on the dyno for a living.

We are on a Subaru forum though. So I didn't mention that 2400hp prostock drag motor I built for a shop in ohio a few weeks ago and tuned it for them on their in house engine dyno. Wanna talk about spooling a big frame turbo... lmao

This isn't that forum though. This thread is about stock location blouch, kinugawa, kamak, SteamSpeed turbos for subarus. Im not comparing apples to oranges here. That's just dumb and makes no sense.

Hello all! So picking up from tuner today! We removed stock air box to try help the turbo and even had too go e85 but the turbo is running out of puff at 22psi and only making 195AWKW
so i am pretty disappointed as a vf22 would beat that! Parking it up for abit while i take in a waste of money.... so the mamba doeant just spool alittle later it also makes nothing... what to do

850cc injectors aren't enough to run e85 and 22psi you probably need 1k+ minimum.

What kind of turbo inlet? Have any pictures you could post of the parts or setup?

Default duty cycle

Hello my injector duty cycle is 70% i am gona leave it at 195awkw for now and upgrade the box then either fit a bigger hot side or a real brand 35r series turbo as i dont think this mamba is going to push much higher. it should be making mid 200s

Just wanted to give a followup on my Kinugawa upgrade:

Ran the T518z-16G 7cm on my 02 WRX for ~50k miles, powertrain is now being rebuilt for something completely unrelated so going a little bigger-

-Never had issues with the turbo, fitment and build quality was great
-Performed well, responsive and made good/expected power
-economical upgrade option
-heavily driven around town and several 600 mile roadtrips

Coincidentally my current build will be using a blouch but so much is changing that I would not be able to make a direct comparison. Swapping mfgs has nothing to do with my experience with Kinugawa and is purely circumstantial.

If I had to do it again I would still purchase a Kinugawa through Steamspeed.
Kinugawa will be at the top of my list alongside the "proven" brands in the US when considering turbo upgrades in the future.
I would recommend Kinugawa to a friend.

I think your ej205 oem heads might be choking off your turbo there, if you had jdm ej207 heads i'd be more interested to see what the turbo could do..

had a kinugawa TD06sl2 20g for a couple years and loved it. fun highway turbo and no issues at all. probably around 20k on it. when I took it off to go rotated there were no signs of any shaftplay at all. I was very impressed. Nothing but good from me
