Awesome set up. How much of the installing did you do yourself? I'm hoping I can find someone to do some of the work for me.

I plan on going through TPG Tuning soon but I am still planning a setup. I'm getting too use to my cobb stage 2.

Nate is mastermind behind the entire build process!

He has built some amazing cars over the years and has traveled all over because of the quality of his work!

he is also an authorized AMS dealer/installer so he is qualified to do anything from simple bolt-ons on a subaru, all the way up to installing/tuning alpha kits from AMS Performance for the R35 GTR!

You trust your non sleeved block at 28-30psi? To me your just asking for issues or unless you don't mind it not lasting long. I wouldn't trust my non sleeved block.

Why do you not trust stock sleeves at 28psi if you don't mind me asking?

My engine builder(Sean @ Vigilant Motorsports) would not tell me it is safe to run my block @ 28psi if he didn't trust the stock sleeves at those boost levels...

Vigilant Motorsports
"Track Series" Shortblock:
28psi and 8500rpm limits

No worries or concerns when you find the right engine builder and tuner!

Your just asking to oval or crack a stock sleeve unless the stock sleeves were pinned. I have a good builder and topspeed is no slouch in tuning. For me personally I just wouldn't push my luck and that's what I've heard from several other builders and tuners. I want my expensive build to last and it's not worth pushing the stock sleeves for a few extra psi. You were talking about running 28-30 psi that is just a lot for a stock sleeve if your looking for reliability. Not saying your builder or tuner isn't good or that your motor can't handle it but the question is for how long can it handle it.

Agreed.^^^^^^

If your looking for a 100k built motor yeah stock sleeve might not be the way to go lol but stock sleeves have been proven with good tuning to live well beyond 30 psi. All in the tuning and care you put into the setup. Mines seen 26-31 psi for maybe 15 miles. No issues.

Yes topspeed is more than no slouch! Doug is probably the best out there . Always kills my self tunes when I hit the dyno!

I understand your concerns about cracking and/or oval a sleeve but I take every precaution to keep that from happening...

Stock bore size pistons so the stock sleeves are as big as possible

SwainTech coated pistons to prevent piston expansion from heat and keeps tighter tolerances between piston-to-sleeve

I daily drive my sti and drive around town on 21psi which is babying the block, then I can use my SI-Drive button to switch from Sport(21psi) to Sport Sharp(28psi) when I go to the track or highway race, so the amount of time I am actually @ 28 is very minimal...

There is plenty of people running more boost without issues....

I am running 28psi everyday and I am going to turn it up when it gets cold. I will let you know how long it last.

Here's a daily driver that runs stock sleeves and considerably more power/boost than 28psi

Took the car into the shop yesterday and adjusted the BC Racing BR Series coilovers by lowering a lil more in the front and stiffened up the spring rates!

No Heater hose is not petroleum resistant and will fall apart in that usage scenario. Needs to be "fuel vapor hose" at a minimum as that is petroleum resistant. I'd personally just grab some Aeroquip Pushlok in -12 and you'll be G2G.

Looks good! On the dynojet plot, spool looks just like my car with nearly an identical set up.
