Im lowered my 13 impreza and haven't gotten stuck once. I just watch where I'm going and don't purposely drive into snow banks.

Just wondering why you didn't go w/ the Crosstrek XV instead. It will have the ground clearance you'll need/want

Primarily because my Impreza was slightly cheaper! A Crosstrek would be cool, though.

I have Godspeed 08 wrx lower control arms, just buy the megan racing arms, I have megan racing rear toe arms, Whiteline rear 20mm sway bar BSR49, RS-R down springs, stock damping. I would personally not do the bushing camber adjustment because it is a supreme PITA. Besides with aftermarket wrx LCA's you open up a whole new world. I also have KW V1's Coil overs heading my way, I was originally going to go with the Koni insert route but the insert will not fit in our front strut carcass. Hope this helps.

Has anyone installed the Eibach® Pro-Kit Lowering Springs - 2012 Subaru Impreza 4dr/5dr 2.0L?

I'm interested in keeping my stock struts and shocks for a nice, modest 1"-1.5" drop and better performance. I want something I can set and not worry about for 5 years. Will these have any issue with wearing out my stock struts and shocks rapidly?

I was also debating buying a set of used wrx 2009 struts and shocks then installing the RCE Regular Guy springs. This is of course a more expensive option, but still cheaper than a cheap set of coilovers.

I'd be curious to see, more than the drop, if it levels the car out like the RSR's.

I installed eibach prokits on my 12 hatch. Its a very subtle drop which is what I was looking for. There is about a 2 and a half finger gap in the front and 2 finger in the rear. But I wouldn't replace it for the ride. The ride is just like stock

I'm torn between the Eibach pro kits and the H&R sport lowering springs at the moment.

Do you have any pictures of them installed? How many miles do you have on them so far? Any increase in stiffness or handling performance?

i've had the springs on for almost 1 month driven about 150 miles. Ride is smooth stocklike a bit firmer you can tell taking corners car feels more planted. The pic is right after I installed the springs but it's not the best angle

Definitely looks better than stock. And real nice with the WRX wheels. But still a little too much reverse rake. I don't know why almost none of the aftermarket springs fix this.

After much deliberation, I think I have finally come to a decision. I will be going with the Koni Sport Damper Set & H&R Springs on sale for $744 at TireRack.com. (Manufacturer Part #: 1140-0461)

This should lower the body 1.5" while still retaining "stock ride comfort". The shocks are adjustable to make it harder as needed. My concern with going with just the H&R Springs on my stock struts is the likelihood of them blowing out after a year or so. I hope the Koni kit should be an easy swap with the parts I currently have. I assume all I need to do is supply my tophats, and the rest can just bolt on. I'm considering aftermarket Group-N tophats, but haven't found a site that sells them. Please let me know if there is anything I may be missing with this suspension swap.

As far as I know H&R springs are not out. Give H&R a direct call.
I was gonna get them last year but weren't done yet.

I would call H&R first before ordering from a third-party. I thought they weren't made yet.

I believe you can order them on Tire Rack now. I thought I remembered seeing that at least..

Did they list the Koni's for our car, or just the 08+ WRX?

When looking up suspensions for a 2012 Impreza, it suggested the 2011 Impreza 2.5i would fit:
http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/s...toModClar=2.5i

The Koni website catalog calls it "Subaru 08-12 Impreza & WRX excl. STI - 1140 Sport Kit" http://www.koni-na.com/cat_search.cf...KXTNqwzjGnhEnK

Does anyone have a set of stock front struts that they want to sell? Blown or with some life left, either is fine. I need a set of donors for a Koni insert install on my 2012 Sport.

I am prepared to pay to have them shipped, so please don't let that be an issue. PM me with anything that you may have. Thanks!

well, 14 pages in, and this is what I learned

I want to lower, not slam my 14 Crosstrek. I know 08 wrx springs/struts/coilover kits work. I'd like to simply try springs frst, but my question is...
-can someone with stock impreza sport springs please measure the spring height?
-did anyone measure spring height for the various lowering springs available?

I need to find stock spring height for the XV, then figure out what would be best.

I might then be interested in your slightly/gentlly used stock sport springs, or lowering springs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks all

Yeah, my springs/shocks are all OEM Sport. Even just putting those on will drop you probably 2 inches, barring they're identical mounts. I would have to assume that lowering a Crosstrek vs an Impreza will be a little more challenging.

struts are theoretically the same, XV to impreza sport, springs are different...according to the parts manager. I'd love to know spring height, XV stock, sport stock, aftermarket lowering height.

While I understand and appreciate the spring rate conversations, and how that'll effect both handling and durability of stock dampers...it would be nice to simply get a ballpark of what spring set would produce what kinda drop.

Alot of the lift in the XV is from a combination of body shim's...little spacers everywhere, and different front to rear subframe assemblies, as well as the taller tires. Those body lift pieces, would be way too labor intensive to remove.

Had it up on the lift last night, with the two local Subie hotshoe tech's. Going down the spring path first I guess. Hard to believe there is still so much confusion about lowering these models, and so few real options... this many years into production.

Anyone got a set of stock impreza sport springs laying around they can measure height for me?

Ask and you shall receive, F 11", R 11.5", all uncompressed. My RCE blacks I had sitting around were very close in height to these. I have my stocks sitting around if your are interested.
