Question Cobb AP Stg 2 and headers?

Does anyone have experience with this? Specifically, running the off the shelf AP stg 2 91 Oct map with a TBE at a higher altitude and no other power mods on a 2005 STi.

I appreciate a protune would be ideal but given the lack of an AWD dyno within 800 miles I'm stuck with bolt ons and generic maps.

I'm concerned about boost spikes more then optimizing the power gains of the headers.

TIA

-J

Good question, I intend to do the same shortly. Personally, in my opinion, there will be power gain - but not as much with a Protune. There shouldn't be any harm done.

from what i read in the past, it will run fine with a header install. it would be more ideal to get it protuned tho. i will be running a header probably within a week with my stage 2 also

Every time I've tossed a header on a car it was fine as far as the tune goes. Not to say a custom tune wouldn't have made more power, but it didn't ruin the tune on it.

Likely because they should be making the power through reduced intake contamination...

This is fine to do. I ran a GT Spec II unequal length header/uppipe + TBE + Cobb AP stg II 93 oct map on my MY04 STi. Good combo.
