I've got a catless dp and a full 3 inch exhaust with a pro-tune. His car is stock except he gutted the mufflers, it also has like 170k miles so it's a little tired I imagine. I would've raced him but he wanted to turn it into fast and the furious and invite like 600 people. I wanted to just do one run down an old deserted back road and call it good. I didn't buy the car to race anyone, I use the CBR to put people in their place when they think 600cc's is slow.

My co-worked tried to race me on the highway the other day in his GMC envoy on our way home. I coulda pulled on him in 5th probably but I went with 3rd. The next day he said man your car is quick, those V6's put out a lot of power. I said yeah especially when it's a flat 4 cylinder. He didn't quite understand.

I have definitely noticed a trend... The Subi drivers I see that are flat-brims NEVER give props on the road. Just goes to show that they're little d-bags that don't have a sense of community. I wish they would go back to driving Honda Civics, because they're giving the rest of us a bad image.

Had a kid in my class that always talked about how his maxima was the fastest car on the road. Went outside after I put my new exhaust on and it had a burnt tip.
Him: ohhh nice muffler, that blue tip adds more hp right?
Me: -_- ..no
Him: humph. Must be thinking of a different one.

Thug, or hoodlum?
What if I just want to support my favorite baseball team. Are the millionaires playing in the MLB all hoodlums because they wear fitted hats?

I have a pretty cushy engineering job, and enjoy my fitted MLB hats.
Haters gonna hate I guess.

Best way to gets flat bill is to wipe your ass with a flame. Then throw that hat in the fire. It wont burn because there's to much douche baggery on it.

But yes its true, flat bill kids never throw duces and always race at every stop. Its real piss off.

I'm going to say you don't understand, we're talking about flat brim hats, A.K.A. flat bill, and not fitted caps.

what part of flat brim do you not understand?

IS YOU BRIM FLAT?
IS YOUR BRIM CURVED LIKE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING WITH CLASS?
DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT A FITTED HAT CAN HAVE A FLAT BRIM OR A CURVED BRIM?

this place is wearing on me, no pun intended...

Well most of the crowd that does wear a flat brim is usually a douche if you think about it...

Anyways, today I was walking in Vegas and a Chinese kid came up to me and apparently saw my scoob roll into the hotel drive through. This is the convoy we had.. then his mom came LOL

Him : hey don't you drive that piece of **** Honda? I saw you roll into the hotel
Me : I drive a Subaru ......
Him : well my Turbo civic can beat that Honda Subaru of yours (yea he thought it was a model)
me : you do know a civic is a Honda right .....
Him : I have a wing Turbo and **** kid **** Cuz I'm faster
His Mom (randomly comes in as she overheard) : you don't even drive, shut up and say sorry to him (directed at her own son)
me : no its okay I had a blast talking to him.

I walked away laughing my ass off. LOL

So I decelerated from 32mph to 25mph. Then, I gave him a big thumbs down out of the window. He might not have liked that, but I continued on as the road goes to a 35mph zone, still doing 25mph.
Next, the road kind of merges with another road, so I changed to the left lane, so did he, still right up on my ass, still doing 25mph. I gingerly accelerated to the 35mph speed limit hoping he would leave me alone, but nope. I probably took about 10 seconds to get from 25-35mph, but he was still on my ass. The cool story ends about a mile later, with him going to the right lane, speeding up a bit about 2 car lengths ahead of me, then turning into an apartment complex to the right.

I would have called the police while he was on my ass, mainly because I like to **** people who drive like asshats, but my phone was dead. I also considered slamming on the brakes or pulling over to talk with the nice fellow, but again, no phone, and I didn't even have my knife on me.

And when he passed me, I didn't get a good look at the guy, but I could have sworn I saw grey hair. Like a lot of grey hair, but I wouldn't think a guy in his 50's would be driving such a ****box, or driving it like such a douche.

how did no one else pick up on this hilarity?

I wear my fitted fox hat I have had for about 6 years everywhere I go, it's not a flat brim hat but I'm doing pretty good.

As far as other drivers I have noticed a lot of other subie owners don't wave or look at me like I'm crazy when I wave, also a LOT of the older crowd(50-60ish) have been buying wrx's and sti's. Kinda wish they would stick to cadi's and quit cutting me off.

On another note I am that ******* driver that if you cut me off in a subie or not I look like a damn crazy person screaming out my window. Just one of my little issues.

I get this question alot: "What are those "teeth" things on the roof of your car?

Refering to the vortex generator. I always just tell them its a diffuser.
I would never call it by its real name....in that case I might as well call it a "flux capacitor" because no one would ever take "vortex generator" serious as a name for a car part, especially one stuffed on the roof of a subaru.

Whats starting to become the most annoying part of owning subaru is trying to explain all the STI tid bits, bright gold calipers, massive scoops, the fenders, the wing, the stickers/emblems. You name it...seems 90% of people who see an STI on the road probably asume its no different than a 90's honda civic with autozone stick on vents, wings, and cheap fiberglass body kits.

I mean honestly, If you know nothing about cars and spotted an STI on the road... would you assume it came like that off the show room flow?

NO. No you wouldn't.

It doesn't bother me to much, but sometimes the car is a bit embarrassing...
I have a professional job, dressing proper and looking well is a standard, but its hard for people to take my buisness appearance serious when I drive up in the "Boy Racer mobile".

Honestly I often wear a ball cap but anytime I see someone with a flat brim I immediately think wanna be douchebag. Why? Because no one wants to wear a flat brim hat for any reason other then to look like a a racer or other sports star. It's uncomfortable.

The only reason you see them on racers and whatnot is because everytime they win or are interviewd the sponsor drops a brand spanking new cap on their head for the advertisement, hence the flat brim.

Any normal person trying to keep the sun out of their eyes and be comfortable is gonna bend that brim.

This is why I love my wingless 08. It's pretty much a Carolla, nobody gives it a second look.
