Yes, there is - the drag strip is only part of it that has the starting grid? (I have never been there though). Maybe someone can post some details on this?

Look here...
http://www.sccbc.net
They've got to update their schedule a bit - still says 2001, but under Driver Training, they've got the 2002 date picked and ready to go. Probably March 10th will be a classroom day, and the 16th aned 17th will be actuall track time. The only thing keeping me from doing this are: A) SA90 helmet - this is NOT a motorcycle helmet (which is what I have - M95). A motorcycle helmet is acceptable for auto-x, but is NOT approved for road racing. An automotive racing helmet SA90+ are more expensive, but have also higher crash standards. I'm not about to dish out another +200 for a helmet just yet - not when I can get plenty of auto-x track time with my helmet and still be happy. B) Ya gotta pay if you wanna play. As it states on their site: Liability waivers must be signed. *Note: Your ICBC insurance coverage is not valid while you are on the track. Perhaps you *could* argue that you're at a "driving school," but I"m not gonna risk it. Even auto-x'ing has its own risks involved, but they're not as high as road racing. I just don't have the necessary funds to ensure a safe enough buffer for myself. That's me though. Anywayz, play safe people. I'm glad to see that people are interested in racing in a safe environment - not stoopid street racing like our friend "Master Jim" from JK. LaterZ! Darren!! |

Yeah! I was really interested until Ricky (prostho) told me ICBC doesn't cover my car. Although I'm not THAT bad of a driver, I'm scared of people around me =D Who's going from 604?

When you're being taught on the course woulnd't you be alone with your teacher? or at least far away from the other drivers? I wouldn't participate in an actual race, but I would love to take part in the hands on instruction. However, I am 350 short of the 350 dollars entrance fee .

High performance, "non-racing", driving. Meaning: drive as fast as within your limits, but no wheel to wheel racing or passing in corners. Passing is only done in the straightaways. I will be trying this out this year now that I will (hopefully) have dedicated race tires to run on. Mission Raceway has made some changes to their road course last year so it is slightly longer with a couple new turns. Can't wait to try it out. -Jeff |

I took it several years ago, good value for the money. Cheaper than Proformance. The first few times out the instructor is in the car with you. Once they figure you're sane enough to go on your own they let you do the sessions without an instructor in the car. The instructors sit around various parts of the track and watch you so they can pick your driving apart. You can only pass on the straightaway when waved buy. There are several cars out at the same time. |

Is it like a course thing which you will get instructed before racing?

I thought there was a difference b/w the $195 one and $350 one.. isn't that supposly the $350 is like a course which you will be instructed and the $195 one..you only race?

After reading the web site
i think the $195 one is a racing event instead of traininghttp://www.performancedriversclub.org/ |
