Default 03 Forester XS engine swap options?

So I sold my WRX to get something else in the near future and at the moment I'm driving this essentially free 03 Forester with nearly 200k. Great looking car, still has a pretty strong motor but, I was thinking to my self, what if I just put the money and work in here instead since I already have it?

Curious what needs to be done for this body Forester? I see a lot of threads online saying "just buy an XT" or something of that nature and I see a TON of threads dealing with the SF5 Foresters, which involve some harness merging and ect...

It's pretty hard to find any swap information out there on this specific chassis, what electronics are in there vs the SF5 or the GDAs etc.

So whatcha got?

Default Research

May sound redundant because I posted about this company before in reference to something similar. The best place I found info on almost everything you need to do a swap is on the iWire site. They go over wiring and even the type of engines you need to get to save yourself on extra work. They have blogs about multiple project types. I found out I could only use 01-04 engines for my build without having extra work. Even then the overall costs are about 4k. If I have to source all the parts myself.
