Slow5oh got me looking at ORIs a little harder than i did when i first looked at them and read about em.
for the price they are cheaper overall than the coilover setup i was eventually going to go with. setup would initially be more of a pain in the ass than coilovers, but once in and properly setup i think they would pwn. anyone ever run these, or know someone that did? |

Nothing, no issues lock to lock. It didn't have any issues driving the 50ft from the install lift. :-P
The AEV kit didn't come in until Friday so I'm just going to leave it there until they can do that next week. |

Good deal. I'm excited to see the finished product. I almost went with the 3.5" AEV kit.

Well I'm going to get the parking brake unstuck and take it on a long test drive. Chances are the head is already cracked but if it's $1,000 and the only thing it needs is tires brakes and some head work I'm OK with it.

Veterinarian, specializing on large animals so she is on farms and such quite a lot.
Most of it's use is heading up into the mountains on non maintained roads for hiking, snow shoeing, fishing, etc.... Been thinking about a Land Rover or a Jeep to have a more robust 4WD/AWD system as we have had to turn back a few times due to roads being washed out / deep snow etc... Granted it has been reliable and taken us further than we thought a relatively stock Subaru would go. Hell, we have pulled "real" trucks and SUV's out of areas and kept going afterwards Been trying to pull that off for almost 13 years now furthest it went was a kiss with a former co-worker |

Looks like today is another shop day.
Running 35's, it seems my stroker is too much for the stock strap bolts on my Dana 35. Just snapped my second set. Proper torque and loctite made no difference. Drilling-out the threaded holes and converting to u-bolts should help. |

Oof. When the driveshaft popped out of the yoke, the caps went flying and the yoke snapped.
Found a yoke off a junk 35, drilled it out for the u-bolts, replaced the u-joint on the shaft, and taking a break before putting it all together. Fun is. |

I'll eventually go to 44s or maybe a nice set of full-width axles down the road.
The 30/35 aren't going to be there permanently. |

U-bolts are far superior... just make sure you mod the yoke right. HOWEVER... if your u-joint is fitting properly they serve almost no function, and see almost 0 force. I think you might have a seccondary issue... either excessive driveline angle, a wallowed out yoke, or a malformed u-joint. As torque related breakage should be in the joint or the shaft tubing.
