Staged, scripted, appeals to mouth breathers...

... I'll probably watch it.

There's still racing regardless, yeah they threw in some redneck filler but its not like it's fake drama. they just kick it with the "rednecks" when not racing.

Knowing that you probably can't release too much info. Did you know what challenges/races awaited you before you went into each competition?

I'll give it a chance, I've got a soft spot for modernized vintage muscle cars (not being sarcastic, I really like modernized vintage muscle cars). I'll do my best to mute the TV when they do the redneck filler crap though.

On a side note, are we already seeing a redneck resurgence? I feel like there are more redneck shows coming up lately... Maybe Larry the Cable Guy can stop doing cialis commercials and start touring again. Also Ron White is my favorite alcoholic comedian of all time.

Least favorite Speed channel show - Passtime

Year one had their cars out there, Detroit speed, Brian finch, A lot of the cars run the good guys autox series as well as the optima street car challenge. my actual car was waaaay outclassed but the producer and Ken Squires said I drove my ass off, and after they found out it was my first time on a road course even more so.

Thanks for posting about the show! The company I work for is in charge of doing the promotions for the show. It's actually pretty legit, we have a top notch announcer on the show as well (Ken Squier) which helps bring more credibility on the Motorsports side.

I've only seen clips, but I'm excited to see how the Subies do! There's a shop near me that had one of their cars on there, so I want to see 'em take the $10K.

Well you're from NC so you could be near both the shops that had cars on the show, Draco performance (me) or 42autosports (Taylor ward). We were the only Subies out there.

Yeah, there were a few TT cars, 700+ HP gtr, a couple bad ass Audis a lambo. I definitely didn't have the fastest actual car Sti w/hks DP and tune. But had one of the faster lap times in Qualifying. I'm the season premiere and I remember the producer saying I probably would be immediately after the filming of my segments because of the close racing.

The link is giving me a blank page.

It seems like everything on speed is redneck these days. I heard it was because fox owns it now. It is disappointing because it is the only option for car shows other than top gear. At least this show sounds like it will have interesting cars.

America is fascinated with idiots: rednecks, Jersey Shore morons, trailer trash...whatever. The TV networks feed this addiction with garbage programming.

My wife and I got rid of cable 15 months ago and have never looked back. Giving up TV is the best thing we've ever done. We use the extra money to dine out more often and the extra time for outdoor recreation, home projects, and <edited due to adult content>.

COMPLETELY JOKING!!! couldn't resist the set up. Wise move, TV can definitely suck you in, know if I could just spend less time on my computer too.

Watched the first two episodes. I do find it funny these guys are bragging about their 60k plus track preped cars beating damn near stock 328's and a stage 2 sti. Not too impressed, but was entertained non the less. To me it proved these old cars handle like s*#!, even the new boss mustang they had almost lost to a stock E36 M3...

Thanks mam, just curious what do you mean over driving it, I was just very aggressive coming out of the corner trying to get some kind of run on him. I honestly think my corner entry was hindered by his slower entry. But yeah Im sure I've got some lessons to be learned but it was a blast.

Yea sometimes you have to go slower to go faster, even though its so hard to do. I have that issue racing my dirt car. When the leader is pulling away and I wanna just run it into the corner hard and just over drive it completely... And it's so easy for me to say over the tv that you were to aggressive, and I'm not in the seat felling what your feeling....

I just want to make sure that we get this on record, two people coming to a mutual position of agreement on NASIOC. This right here is even more epic than the show.

Should have run the Hoosiers. Entertaining but geared to spark interest in the high dollar hot rods. Give it 1/2 a season.

Good job, it was entertaining.
Do they limit the mods of the entering imports (besides the "no LS engine in an import rule" I saw enforced on the other epidsode)?
