Default Fog light films

Just got my first subaru, a 2012 impreza sport. I noticed that the first thing that a lot of people do to their impreza is put yellow films over their fog lights. How do you apply them? and do you have to remove the black casing around the foglight? I think they look cool, but what is the purpose?

Thanks from a car newbie

People put yellow films over their foglights because they are ignorant. DO NOT make the same mistake. www.danielsternlighting.com is where to go. Email Daniel with your car and what bulbs you want to replace and do EXACTLY what he says and you will get PERFORMANCE lighting.

Did you send an email to Daniel Stern as suggested above?

You'll get a FAR more educated response from him than you will on this message board.

I dont mean that it is a huge change, I guess my parents just don't see any big advantage or improvement, sorry
(so far the only thing they have let me do is tint the windows and buy a ski rack)

ok, the main reason that i started this is because i was interested in buying the films, and does anyone know if you have to remove the black casing in order to apply!?

The film is easy too apply go to ebay or amazon buy the film for about 20$ or so maybe a little more or less. youtube it on how to apply so you get the idea. you'll need a heat gun and a credit card like object preferably the ones used to apply bondo. ive seen ppl do it with a torch but i wouldnt recommend it if its your first time xD

Your parents will let you spend more on film than actual bulbs?

direct quote from my mom "you can do whatever you want to your own car that you buy with your own money"

and the funny part is that i was going to buy an older car with my own money but they made me get a newer car that is safer and more reliable

bulbs are nice if your looking for the lighting but im assuming he's going for the look which is the exterior of the bulb housing tinted yellow so when your lights arnt on they still appear yellow.
