Default Safe, reliable HIGH oil pressures 2011 stg2 wrx?

Can anyone with mechanical know how comment on reasonable oil pressure values on a newer 2011 stg 2 wrx? The 10 psi/1k rpm does not seem to apply to my car. Using Rotella 5w-40 I get about 7 bar (100psi) at cold start. After 10 mins or so operating psi under throttle is about 6 bar (85psi) at 3 to 4 k rpm and idle settles to about 2 bar. Seems kinda high to me, but I really know nothing about this.

End game here is wondering if I should look at oil with a bit less viscosity to bring pressures down, or are my numbers just fine for our engines. I don't push my car hard, for what that's worth

Thanks,
Eric

entirely normal... 10psi/1k rpm is the old school rule of thumb for v8's, but it doesn't apply to many smaller more modern engines. (obviously subaru engines being one of them)

My car does the exact same thing, on cold start its around 85-95, then when it's warm idling around 28, then when I get on it a little bit it may shoot up to 60-80

^^^Same here. Usually in the 90s at cold start and then once the engine is warm it sits around 30 at idle.

Nice. Cobb chimed in as well that my numbers are typical. Anyone want to weigh in on 0w40 vs 5w40 for Oregon winter in a car that is a dd über short tripper--3 miles to work, I mile to gym, 2 miles home, 1 mile to drop kid off at practice...

I have read a lot. Seems that the 5w40 fights off fuel dilution better, but the 0w has o lower viscosity on my short trips which is a good thing. Boost performance is moot as I stay out of it on my short trips. I suppose I need to do several uoa's with both and compare wear

I also use T6 and this morning (about 20*F) my oil pressure was around 105psi or, but I'm due for an oil change. I notice that the pressure gets a bit higher as the oil gets older, and without question it's higher on cold days. I've never had any issue with it though.
