I'm interested in frequent local meets as well. Perhaps a day midweek? I just moved to Gville in August so this would help get me out of my garage and being social lol.

A new thread should probably get started on the weekly Greenville meet idea, and keep this one on the fairway Subaru meet.

I'll be there.
Hey rigpin? Will those springs work on a Forester without changing the struts?

Only person I even talk to there anymore.

They wouldn't let anyone test drive it. I went up there about 4 months after I bought my WRX and wouldn't even consider letting me test drive it for "trade in". I had to fight them for a couple days to let met test drive the WRX before I bought it. I have some serious issues with sales team at fairway

Don't know what to say, Did you talk with Jan? I did get to ride in a BRZ that SOA had up there one day but no test drive it either. I even said I'd sign what ever they wanted so I could give it a nice review but nope..... oh well.

No more new cars for me anyways..... I prefer my cable throttle, and less electronics.

Jan is the one that eventually let me test drive three WRX and sold it to me. They were extremely reluctant until I told them my down payment I was prepared to make. I think they just assumed that I'm some 25yr old guy that wants a free ride and that's it. I wouldn't use fairway again

Matt,

They will work but will eventually kill the Forester struts. Your best bet is to try and pick up some WRX/STi struts. I know someone selling Cusco Coils for a really good price.

As for the Feb 10th meet everything looks good to go.

I had issues with test drives when I first started looking, but that was mostly because they didn't ever have one on the lot long enough. When they got a used 08 in, they let me test drive that one right away. I actually met Alex by asking him for a test ride before I even knew he worked there. When my wife and I were looking at Outbacks last weekend, Jan gave us the keys to multiple cars, no questions asked, and let us drive around. (I wouldn't expect a test drive in a BRZ, they are just way too rare.) I saw an older guy take a new WRX out and even he had a ride along sales partner, so I wouldn't take it personally. I've had good experiences with Jan and John, though.

I think if you go to multiple dealerships, you will see that some dealerships are all about selling outbacks and foresters and others like selling wrx's. Most places dont make money selling wrx's and so they don't care to work hard selling them (unless its on their used lot because used is where the real money is at). Also wrx's pretty much sell themselves. They don't have to try hard to convince someone to buy one. Generally if someone is a potential buyer of a wrx, the buyer already has the intention of leaving with one.

I'm not condoning this practice but i can see the logic behind it.

As for brz. Id need some convincing to get rid of my sti for something else. Lol

How much?

Also, I was under the impression that the struts themselves were sized differently.. Correct me if Im wrong, but wouldn't sti springs on wrx or sti struts make it REALLY low? All I want is a little firmness and a couple inches if any at all.

If it makes a difference, the car just got the struts replaced under warranty a couple months ago before the warranty ran out. Im looking for a budget option at this point, but still very interested in the Cusco's if the price in my price range.

The springs are the same height at a stock sti ones. The only difference is they're a little stiffer. Id like to get about 100 for all the complete set. and they only have about 35 to 40K on them.
