Bridgeport Mayor Finch just announced he hopes to have all city streets cleared by Sunday.

That's a long time.

It felt awesome to pass a cop trying to go up a hill in Allston Mass. Countless snow covered parking lots to uncover with my four tires!

Beasted through 28" in 6 hours, destroyed my back, but going for a drive afterwards with heated seats made it all worth it.

I missed the whole thing driving to Kentucky to buy a new car trailer and then to Chicago to pick up a Rally car shell, then wrapped it all up since there is many whole into the car and had a bunch of carbon fiber stuff inside and didn't want the thing to get all crapped up with the new paint job. Then I hit Hartford on the way back and that was a complete mess.

Aftermath: Keep in mind that Boston specifically allows "space saving" for 48 hours after the end of a snow storm. I believe there's a "parking saver" rant thread on OT somewhere.

Quote:
The Boston Police Department is investigating several reports of car vandalism related to shoveled out parking spaces. The incidents took place between February 11 - 13, 2013, in several neighborhoods of the city.

(1) About 9:10AM, on Wednesday, February 13, 2013, a male victim reported to officers at District C-11 (Dorchester) that his car tires were vandalized during the night while parked in the area of 7 Mayfield Street in Dorchester. The victim told police that he parked his on February 12, 2013, at about 5:00PM, and when he returned to his car the next day, he noticed his front tires were slashed.

(2) About 10:49AM, on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, officers from District D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call involving vandalism on Litchfield Street. On arrival, the victim told officers someone slashed one of her tires. Officers observed the victim's car to be parked legally in a shoveled out spot in the area of 10 Litchfield Street. Victim stated that there were items placed in the empty parking space in an effort to "save" the spot which the victim says she moved prior to parking.

(3) About 11:00AM, on February 12, 2013, a male victim walked into District D-14 (Brighton) to report that his vehicle had been damaged sometime between 9:00pm on February 11 and 7:45am on February 12. Potential for up to a foot of heavy, wet snow in SNE this weekend.

Who knows of any good unplowed parking lots in/near boston? (Although wet snow may not be the best conditions)

All winter the meteorologists have been touting the "European Snow Model" as being most accurate. Checked the hour-by-hour forecast on Channel 5 last night and it indicated 3.5" of snow through Friday night.

It appears we've received 14" or so in Boston and they are reporting 24" in Holden, MA. My duaghter's school had 120 of the 200 kids absent.

Dear Meteorologists,

It's not a "forecast" if you report the snowfall after it's on the ground.

Damn I got ripped off. Only a few inches on part of my driveway, so I didn't even bother firing up the snowblower. That's probably good, though. I don't want to be pelted by snowballs at tomorrow's St Patty's parade.

Snow reports?

I think we got 6-8" in Boston, but it switched to rain about an hour ago and won't drop below freezing until midnight.

My wife in on Rt 84 W of Hartford CT and she said there were a number of accidents, including one large multi-car one just outside the city.
