Please do, as SOA is out of step here when compared to other cars on the market that have auto-up windows.

Also please note that Japanese-spec Subies "do" have auto-up windows—with pinch protection.

SOA - can we have another SOA Warehouse BBQ this spring? There were several of us, who were very disappointed that there was no BBQ/Warehouse tour meet in 2007.

Auto-up is one of those good suggestions that we can pass on to the product guys. It's a good example of something that enthusiasts notice but might also be practicable. I'll make sure it's considered.

And... we really do read your suggestions.. and when they can clear the volume/complexity/demand/legal/cost hurdles we will do our best to incorporate them.

That said, the previous guy is right - I won't be able to talk to you about future product - we shouldn't do that - but I can point out when there's incorrect info about our products or what we have and haven't said out there.

While you're at it, also please pass on the following upgrades...

• Direct injection for all engines.

• Timing chain and DOHC for all H4s

As I said previously - the market research does bring up many customer wishes - but I'm pointing out that we heard you on this one.

Exactly- I won't confirm rumors - but I will clarify what we have and haven't said. Fun ain't it?

At least I can reduce "some" of the rumors that way..

Will WR Blue ever be a color choice for the Legacy, like it is/was in overseas markets.

Why is leather not an option in the 2008 wrx when it was in the 2007? What about a sunroof? What about key-less entry and push-start? Also ill ad on to why no auto-up? What about direct-injection? What about 5eat/cvt?

Give me an "impreza GT" with all this and a navi and ill buy it in the next 15 months.

SOA Blog,
I sincerely hope the next generation Legacy incorporates many options found in similar level vehicles from your competition. I have an 05 LGT which I once loved but now only like.
Power up window (my 07 Toyota Sienna has them)
More hp. 250hp is a joke. (my Sienna has 265)
Better A/T but I'm not sold on CVT.
Larger size cabin.
Better selection of Subaru accessories. It's rediculous that I had to source rainguards from SOJ, body colored splash guards from SOJ, sedan trunk liner from SOJ and armrest extension with extra storage from England. They're all the same product. Make them available here. Just look at the accessories book from Japan and look at the U.S. one. BIGG difference.
Less rattles.

SOA Blog, can you clarify... are you saying you guys "heard us" on Bob's suggestions, or on the auto-up? Thanks.

Is Subaru planning to offer a diesel engine or hybrid gas on any of their models for the U.S. market in the near future?

A diesel - officially "within the next 5 years" but we are also saying sooner rather than later.

sorry, but we don't discuss our future product plans. Sorry I can't be of help but in a commercial business we have to keep our plans confidential. (you never know who's reading.)

Who is the current designer for Subaru's cars and are there going to be more cars designed by said designer?

Guys, please keep this thread within its intent, direct your questions to SOA Blog. Make them realistic and leave your dream wishes for bedtime If you know the answers (like Mike has been sharing), then it's all good. I just don't want to see this thread lose it's purpose and miss a good opportunity to talk with SOA.

Thanks.

SOA Blog:
here's a couple questions/statements you can either 1) "no that's false" or 2) "no comment" on...

The 2.0L boxer turbo diesel has been getting good press around the world, however in the US, the engine mix has moved on to 2.5L and left behing the 2.0...when the boxer turbo diesel does come into play in the US market, will it be upsized to 2.5L (i hope!)

Somewhat related, these small displacement turbo diesel motors have primarly been used to showcase fuel efficiency, with really only Audi demonstrating the ability for performance..I'm sure Subaru has a marketing strategy mixing in the pot, but will there be performance (ie STi level) oriented trims with a diesel in it?

I guess that leads to the wish for a 2.5L boxer turbodiesel STi :P

Final question:
what is the culture/politics like between SOA and SOJ...do you generally request things, or do they force some things down your throat?

4) Sorry to have gotten you upset, never meant to get you pissed off.

This is my last post on the subject, can we please get back to talking about Subarus and asking SOA Blog questions....
