Interesting.

I ordered on 9/29 from Beard Subaru. Hyannis, MA.

They told me I should get my VON around by OCT 10th, sure enough on Oct 11th they emailed my with the VON and a little picture from the order website.

It already said filled right when the VON was applied. Is that possible? How could it get filled that quickly? It'll be 5 weeks next Wed since I got the VON. He stated the 1114 was next months (NOV) allocation. I emailed him earlier this week (Nov 5th) asking for an ETA update and his response was...

"It's not in my intransit inventory yet so I'm not expecting the STI in November."

What do you think? Is it really possible my car is built and sitting around somewhere in Japan or Port? I thought that the only way you would know the car is built is when it arrives at port and they send you the VIN#.

-Alex.

well you are subaru of new england (SNE) so that may mean something different, not sure.

It would seem to me they had a car built to your specs already, so it got "filled".

Do you know what schedule and status date means? I was at the dealer the other day and I saw on his screen my status date was 11/5 and schedule date was 11/6. My eta is 11/19 and I got my vin around 2 weeks ago.

An Asian lady in front of me slammed on her brakes without warning, and I slammed mine but the car didn't stop in time. I had taken my eyes off the road to check if it was okay to merge, and then BAM. This was my pride and joy for the last two and a half years. I still can't believe this. I don't know what I'll be driving until the WRX comes in.

Well it is our 10th year anniversary and we decided to both upgraded to Scoobies. We both miss and love our old wrx.

We are trading in our Forester and Legacy for two cars.

1. WRX limited 5-dr. (pearl blue)
2. STI 5-dr (black)

We ordered them yesterday from Mastro in Tampa (10/20). They said 8-10 weeks. After reading this thread, I am starting to wonder if that is even realistic. Let's hope.

We can't wait and I am excited, as is my wife. I will keep you updated as to the progress.

Regards....
My wife's Plasma Blue WRX Limited came in last week and we picked up last Saturday. That was FAST! Some dealer options we ordered had not come in (cross bar), which they will call us when they do come. The price came to $22k out the door (with taxes) after trading in the 2004 Forester XT with over 75k miles.

I received the VON on the STI, but no delivery date.

Do you KNOW how frustrating it is that my wife is tearing up the roads in her WRX and I can only watch! She calls me and says, "Guess where I am?" - where? - "Driving my WRX, BYE!"

SWP WRX Premium Sedan w/ navi ordered 09/08. Was on HOLD last week when I talked to my dealer. I emailed him this morning for an update and haven't heard back yet. My original ETA was December, but I don't even think I have an ETA anymore...

What is even MORE frusterating is that my EXACT car (options) is sitting at another dealership (in Miami) and he will NOT budge OFF the MSRP price. I ordered the car for $2k less already, with $500 down. I am willing to make the drive and forgo my $500 bucks if he can match the price. The dude told me that they can sell in Miami at MSRP all day and he will NOT come down in price.

So is it worth it to spend an extra $2000 + $500 deposit loss ($2500) for a car or wait? I don't have the extra cash to sling.

Dealers will NOT trade with each other and if they do, they UP the fee of the car. It is SO frustrating.

They don't have much incentive to do so. With WRX/STis they know they can sell them for MSRP when they have them in stock. If they were to sell you it for cheaper, then not only will they lose out on that MSRP sale, they will also lose out on your order sale. Effectively, they are out a car sale.

Same thing happened with me. There's a 2012 STi PBP Sedan with 12k miles and Nav/STS/SPT Exhaust sitting at Heuberger and they want $36k for it. With those miles and the options I don't care about, I really didn't want it. Instead I'm waiting 4 months for a brand new 2013 STi PBP Sedan base for $33k. The 4 month wait sucks, but I don't mind waiting 4 months to save $3k and not have 12k miles .

Everyone I've talked to in the Bay Area has offered invoice or pretty close to it for a factory order.

I'll be ready for my new wheels this spring, so I'm planning on placing my order just after the new year.

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up! If I can get near invoice I'll be financially able to order my car in just a couple of weeks.

Agreed, however this dude will not even take a 2013 STI on my local dealers lot in trade. My local dealer said these guys never will trade when you ask them, but they have no problem calling other dealers for trades.

This type of scenario is why I didn't order my WRX even though the Subaru dealer closest to my house tried to get me to do so. My thoughts were that I would probably find a WRX at a dealership close to me sooner than I would receive one by ordering and waiting 4 months or more. Sure enough, after only a week and a half of checking dealer inventory online every day I found the exact WRX that I was looking for at a dealership only 40 miles from my house and I contacted them right away to let them know I was coming to check it out. In your case however, I don't know that it would be worth $2,500 in order to get the car a few months earlier. Just wait it out and at least you will know you are getting the exact car that you want for a good price and that you are the only person (aside from the dealership tech) to ever drive it!

Congratz buddy!! Mine is still on hold as of 11/5 when my sale rep email me the weekly update. May be he'll shoot me some exciting news the upcoming Monday with an ETA or may be out of hold status. Sigh he told me i shouldn't have to wait for months because I ordered way before Subaru announces that wait period but it's looking like that to me lol. Oh well I'll have money to put as downpayment. Just sucks that it's snowing like crazy over here but no WRX to have fun in

Hopefully this will bring some joy to the thread, if not.. it brought plenty of joy to me . Just talked to my dealer and got a VIN and ETA! ETA is 11/20 and will be ready to be picked up 11/21! Original ETA given with VON was mid December so looks like it will have taken a total of 9 weeks by the time I pick it up. Soooooooooo stoked right now!!!!

P.S. For those of you buying in UT, Nate Wade Subaru has been nothing but a pleasure to work with on this deal. I would recommend them to anyone. Ordered 9/13; VON same day; VIN received 7-8 weeks later.

I don't know about that about Nate Wade. They treated me pretty bad everytime I contact them about buying a WRX. It's almost like they don't think I can afford the car or something. They have been nothing but rude to me. But you ordered it in UT instead of ID?

Yep. Dealers in Southeast Idaho are no good to work with when buying a WRX/STI and SLC is closer to Idaho Falls than Boise so I ordered in UT. Too bad they've been rude to you. I went to Nate Wade originally because they have won a bunch of customer service awads and stuff from Subaru. I'm glad I've had a smooth experience so far and hope it stays that way!

I'm glad it worked out fine for you. I have heard good things about Nate Wade as well so I went to them first after deciding I want a WRX but I kept getting brushed off by them. Oh well at least they aren't the only Subaru dealer in UT.

Just ordered my first wrx 2 weeks ago. Got a 2012 limited in dark grey from Grand Subaru in Chicago. What the sales person told me is that there is currently a temporary hold on on orders, so haven't got a conformation yet, hopefully soon. My current car is a old truck since its a bit too cold up here in Michigan for the 111 LSA cam on my camaro, its getting boring and old. well here's to hoping to hear soon.

Were their any changes from the 2012 to 2013? What I have been told the only change was that the 2013 had no Sirius/XM radio. Is that true?
