Sorry I've been bad with pictures! Here is a shot from Monday the 8th about 30 minutes after talking with Mike on the phone. I bolted over to Evanston Subaru from a job I was on in Elk Grove Village ASAP. Mike simply said "wow, that was fast!" haha

I managed to get the car with some protectives still on, the window sticker, sold tag, etc. Mike also had very quickly put the "no holes in front bumper, no tire dressing!!!!!!!" sign in the car for me!

Thursday the 11th, my WRX has its first load nestled into the cargo area:

About an hour later at a friend's shop with another friend of mine, we have installed the q300:

Friday the 12th the clear bra going on, also had tail light overlays put on:

Are you saying that it's likely that people who already had estimated delivery dates of November will most likely be getting their cars when they were already supposed to, or that people with dates currently further out might be getting their dates moved up to November?

When will us "month of Nov" guys start getting VINs? I cannot believe my car is not even in production yet. Today is Day 1 of week 8 in my arduous wait.
If I was waiting for delivery it would be no big deal, but production and delivery will easily put another 3 weeks of waiting in my future...

I ordered ISM 5 door WRX on 10/2/12 with the only option being the extended arm rest from Ramsey Subaru in North Jersey. This will be my first Subaru and first new car, been wanting one of these since Grand Turismo for PS1. For those curious here was my price breakdown:

Sticker(or whatever it's called) - $24,880
Arm Rest Extension - $134
All Weather Mats - $0
Tax - $1750.98
Dealer Fee - $299
Tags - TBD(said could be between $50 - $200)
Out the door - $27,063.98 + tags

He said not to expect any word for 4-5 weeks and I should have it by 8 weeks at the latest but he has been averaging 6 weeks for orders.

Have people in NJ been getting there cars on time?

Order Date: Aug 29
ETA: Oct 15
Delivery Date: N/A
Dealership: Evanston Subaru, Chicago
Vehicle: Sti SWP 4 door-base
Navigation: Yes
Other add-ons: SPT exhaust, floor mats, auto-dim with compass, wheel locks

Comments: was bumped to oct 8 thru phone on Oct 2 but nothing shows up till now. I hope finally pick up the car within two weeks from now as many port-arrivals are being "quality controlled". Or although not as SOA planned but on-time delivery tmrl as MIKE sees a truck with load of WRX/STI for all of us MWSOC orders.

This is wait could be the worst inception experience you and I ever had!

I'm interested in this as well. I paid $200 over invoice price for my order, and a lot of the accessories are at dealer invoice price. My OTD was $31,585 for a WRX 5-doors Premium with/ SPT catback exhaust, auto-dimming mirror with homelink, Illumination kit, wheel lock, STI exhaust tip finisher, Short throw shifter. Anyone know if this is an ok deal or did I get rip off?

Wait, I'm confused. The picture on Subaru.com in the accessories area shows that it's a Euro/JDM style decorative plate. How does it function as a plate holder? I know that the website shows you can get a front license plate bracket or there are also several options for license plate frames, but it says that it is a plate and it includes "hider caps".

It's a plate. I've seen one install before, and looks pretty good.

Correct me if i'm wrong but won't there be those two holes in the bumper regardless? I guess I could see it if they planned on putting the front plate on. (i'm not sure what all is involved with that. I told my dealer the same just in case)

you're correct, but often a dealer will drill and mount a front plate without asking, in this case that would make two additional holes. Mike just knows that the people who buy the enthusiast cars often want to have a choice or do it themselves.

Order entry date 10/5
Allocation Period 2013-01

............

Is the "Allocation period" the same thing you guys are talking about when you get a "delivery month of" date? Or is that yet another thing that gets added to the order status at some point?

10 days since I ordered, not doing well....

If your car actually shows in November, it has already been built. The cars from Japan get VINs when FHI releases the ships manifest while it is on its way here. Just because it doesn't have a VIN now, doesn't mean it hasn't been made yet.

When did you find out your "month of november" date?
2 weeks in? 3weeks in?

The "allocation period" does not necessarily mean that your car will be coming in that month. If I understand correctly, it has more to do with the dealer's monthly allowed allocation. Think of it as a draw against commission. They weren't supposed to get any more WRXs this month or next, so your order takes one away from them in their 2013-01 allocation. My order's allocation month is November, but my car will be at the dealership within the next couple of days (currently "at railhead"). Somebody ordered a Crosstrek the day after I placed my order, and they got a 2013-01 allocation month as well, but their order will arrive late October/early November. It has little to nothing to do with when your car will actually arrive.

My order also showed "month of November" for the estimated ETA on the same day that I ordered (8/15). I don't think that has anything to do with it being built (or not) already - it's just a system-generated estimate. I think it took about 3 weeks to change to an actual date ETA. Just buy a bunch of parts and accessories while you're waiting. It helps ease the pain.

Yes.

Both of those are possible. It will depend on how many orders that dealer has put in vs. How many they "earned" according to Subaru.

I placed my order for the 2013 WRX on September 14th. They told me November or December. I got a phone call on Wednesday the October 10th that it had arrived. I picked it up Friday the 12th and am in Love with this car. I already through tint and new front speakers in it. I went with Alpine Type S's for the front. Sound so much better now. I want to get the accessport but I am not sure if they changed the model for the 2013's?? Does anyone know? and how is the Cobb shortshifter, which isn't known if it is the same as the 2012 fit, or is there a better shifter? Thanks.

Glad to hear that. Was planning on a new head unit and speakers, but maybe I'll swap in some half decent speakers first and see where that gets me. I don't need anything that sounds fantastic, just good would do. Will probably get a head unit at some point but it involves wiring up the steering wheel control and Bluetooth too so I've been dragging my feet on it.

Here's a good writeup on a head unit swap anyhow, for reference. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2316694
