Meh that's not really what doucheluben is trying to say. He is saying that you look like a damn fool when you are making a racket with a car that doesn't even need to be loud to make the power its making

You know, I think I'll back off on this one. The thing that ticked me off was him saying...

I didn't buy a car based on noise. That has never been a concern of mine at all. I'm not looking to impress people when I drive by.
implying (and then explicitly saying) that I am even when I tried to clear it up by saying it can get other people interested in cars-- always a good thing. Really, I have it on for myself because I love the sound. Sounds like an F1 at full boost to my ears. Appropriate for the street? Maybe not. But I love it and don't go WOT at 11pm in the neighborhood nor out of meet parking lots. Also helps my shifting hearing the engine revs better. Definitely don't need someone stereotyping me.

Somebodies cars always gonna be faster, just enjoy your boost and quit b!tching.

Some people have loud cars, some people have quiet cars there isn't a right answer just preference.

This. Exactly.

I realize that something I said really set you off. When I wrote it, I honestly did not even realize you had an N1 or that you were Stage 2. It was not meant to be a personal attack, but you obviously thought it was. I apologize if you felt my comments were meant for you individually. They were not.

But I still do not agree with your rationale. You said it right in that post, "Appropriate for the street? Maybe not." That's the problem. You might inspire kids to start liking cars. You might think that you don't bother people because you don't go WOT at the middle of the night. But for every kid you inspire, you probably get 5 old people to hate "tuner cars", "ricers", "Japanese econo-boxes", etc. I really do not see how loud exhausts are ever a benefit to the car community as a whole. But that's just my opinion.

And I have an EWG dumped to atmosphere. So at WOT I'm probably 10x as loud as you anyways, lol.

If you didn't know anything about cars, that sentence makes no sense.

I know but I figure if you don't know what a 2zz spyder is you probably don't care

I guess I could say swapping the 180hp Celica gt-s/vibe gt/matrix xrs/corolla xrs/lotus Elise engine into a 2195lb mr2 spyder to make sort of a budget lotus Elise lol plus a JDM LSD 6 speed tranny

I once semi raced a 94-97 accord ricer in the vibe. People look so confused when they hear the vvtli crossover coming out of something that looks like that

Got myself some fog lights from the Subaru dealership yesterday. Install pics coming tomorrow. After that...I think my mods will hopefully be complete for the year.
