im curious, if you owe so much on it, and know that going FI on it is expensive(especially if you pop the motor) why not just take that money, pay down the loan and sell it/trade it in?

This is a terrible idea on so many levels. Just pay your car off and don't waste your time.

It will just turn into a failed experiment. Like everyone else is saying, just pay it off and get something that is supposed to be turbocharged (WRX)

You will end up spending far more than you owe on your car trying to do this properly, and it will be down for months. You would be MUCH better off selling your car and buying a WRX. Despite what you owe on your loan, this approach will actually be cheaper.

^^^^

plus ur turbo impeza won't be worth much more than an unmodded impreza, but a wrx will be worth the extra coin you spend on it. also turbing it will probably cost at least 3k.

If you have ok credit they will also roll in what you owe on your current car even if they don't give you a full trade. so you could end up owing way more on a wrx rather than a base impreza.
