Regarding the header, It looks alright for someone looking to have no front core support, and mounting the radiator in the back or insane v-mount. I think doing a production run of them, even at a low quantity would only beneficial if you have the spare material and can wait awhile for ROI.

I don't see why not, it's just a different flange.

I'm curious about your design for a rear mounted radiator in general. I have my own thoughts that involve hacking up the rear of the car. I'm interested if you have one envisioned that doesn't do that.

A radiator in the back will require penetrations through the budywork no matter what. The trick is doing it to provide adequate airflow and/or improve vehicle aerodynamics at the same time.

If you did just the header with a v-band flange right after the 4-1 collector, I would be VERY interested. This has kept me away from the holy header, I love the header, but the rest of it is worthless for my application.

Yeah I'm wondering if something like WReXd mentioned would work; sort of like a lot of 4G63 manifolds are. My friend runs a twin scroll setup that has two wastegates basically welded to the collector. Seems to work for him.

Sounds a lot like what Turn In Concepts and I were asking for last winter
I hope you bring it out, as I don't even want to make another manifold for my own car I would suggest rotating the turbo up and more in front of the crank pulley to help those of us not scavenging oil out of the turbo. |

eh, it's a couple pounds (all down low at that) and the service interval is 10,000 hours. With the reduction in tubing I bet it's still lighter (vs a rotated setup) even with the extra pump. I know compared to OEM bits the kit is WAY lighter.

I would be interested, but if it came down to it, I would probably fabricate my own! I feel like a lot of people willing to tackle a front mount setup have the means to fabricate everything. Doesn't mean some wouldn't buy, though! |

You will see the header next week hopefully. I am just waiting on my turbo to show up.

Next week it will be Just want to point out that this header design Chris has envisioned will be getting put to the test on my 800+whp GC8 build. Chris is the man, just talking to the guy over a couple of emails really shows you how much he ACTUALLY knows.. not just theories or guess work... Plus he will not put out a product until he has tested it for tons of miles. Industry needs more guys like Chris/KillerB and less money hungry schemers. Jr |

There are some decent fabricated setups out there, and some not so much. I think the advantage we have is the ability to design and engineer a setup before cutting a piece of metal, and testing before it gets bolted to your car. Some shops that will fabricate a setup on the fly, and you are the tester, that I don't get. Quote:
Thanks for the kind words Jr! Quote:
Thanks Matt! You have more funky header questions you know where to find me |

It was originally part of our low-mount kit that puts the turbo low and to the side like post 43
We cut it apart and put the turbo straight out front just for fun. This was never mounted to a car, but it would make for one highly efficient setup for anyone that has a dedicated drag car. |

Run with the idea again and work on locating the turbo up like Xdrian did and soon to be Jr's car (Junior2jz) your radiator location still leaves enough room to stick the inlet there and just have to put a cone on it for street use.

I have a difference of opinion. I like it low so the exhaust goes straight out of the turbine. I'd rather have a bend in the inlet vs the exhaust. Plus I like an amount of distance on the inlet since flow from a cone filter tends to be craptastic.
