I was at capital reef a few days ago, and there was a section of the dirt road that was sand.. there was a hummer in front of me that got out and bet I couldn't do it with a laughing tone. What made it funnier was that he had crawler gear (tires, lift, etc). So anyways, I went, stopped in the sand and floored it, to pretend I was stuck. He was so impressed by my car he wanted to one up it.. Guess who got stuck Lol he got out all pissed.

This was in a impreza outback sport on all seasons. Lol.

Is it weird that in my almost 2 years of owning the car, I have yet to experience any notable funny comments or questions? I've only had like 4 people try to race me. The only dumb thing a friend of mine asked was, "This is a Mazda, right?"
Whats really weird is that my experience with people at automotive shops (autozone, advance auto, etc) has been exceptional. One guy basically gave me a shopping list of things I might need when I installed my downpipe and IC.

Haha that's probably because more than half of the stories on this thread are completely fictional

That's awesome. I routinely park in the muddiest spots I can just for fun. Seeing all the lifted trucks and SUVs park safely on concrete brings a smile to my face when they look at my car with jealousy.

I do the same thing too. Even got a guy (in a F150) while I was out mudding telling me that mine is the first Subaru he's seen out doing what Subarus are made for. He and his buddy even were taking pictures while I drove through one of the mud holes. I should have asked them to take some action pics and text me them.

Me- what wheels are those, raijins?
Her- no they're like.. Enka's or something
Me- yeah that's the company, it's enkei. But yeah that's cool, I have an 02, I was thinking about these wheels for it

Actually he was going about that fast by the time he hit the median. Before the intersection when I first seen him he was going slower, but it's heading out of town so he was accelerating. I couldn't believe his car drove away fine after that because he hit it hard. While accelerating.

Everyone lifts their trucks and puts mudding tires on them to putt around town in, and many of them wouldn't dare to take them out and get them dirty. It's funny seeing the look on their face when they see you take off on a snowy street like it's dry pavement while they're in their truck struggling to get going.

This happened a month or two ago and I forgot about it.

Driving to walmart one evening for groceries. Look in my mirror and see a Mercury mariner weaving through traffic. I was thinking WTF??

At a stop light the guy catches up to me.

Him- Hey, I had to catch up to see if it was stock.
Me- ??? Well mostly but not quite.
Him- I have a blue r6 w/o farings, have you seen it.
Me- I don't think so.
Him- You sure, you'd probably recognise it.
Me- I dont think so, but maybe.
Him- You have seen it.
Me- Okay...
Him- If you see me again, we should race. I'd probably beat you.
Me- Sure dude.

I love how people with bikes want to race cars and think it's cool/a fair race.

I had a guy in a WRX chase me down onto a circle on ramp and try and race me on the interstate while I was on my zx10r. He was decently built too and kept up for at least 1 gear before I was gone gone gone, I slowed down gave him a wave and thumbs up for the nice ride and parted ways.

One day I was riding with a friend in his GC and we were stopped at a red light. Some bro in a brostang pulls up next to us, his friend hangiing out of the passenger side window with those stupid neon green sunglasses from a gas station...

Bro: Yo...nice car
Us: Thanks
Bro: Nissan right?
Us: Not quite. It's a Subaru
Bro: What is that, a sentra, right?
Us: Not quite :|
Bro: You should drop a SR20 in that. Make it drift!
Us: :|

*light turns green, brostang stalls*

Us: lololololololololololololol

Yeah I enjoy when you meet someone and do a gear or two pull, then slow back down and go on your way haha. Mutual respect is what its about.
A wrx would have to be build like a brick S***house to keep up with a liter bike I would think.

I think about 600hp would probably be the range for keeping up with a liter bike, but I dunno cause I have not seen a car yet that's played with me that will keep up.

I guess it would depend on exactly what you mean by keeping up, but to get the same power to weight ratio, you would need over 1000 hp unless the car has some serious weight reduction.

My 08 cbr 1000 when it was stock, was about 435lbs and made 175hp. 1/4 mile was right at 10.2 seconds, 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, and 0-100 in 5.4 seconds.

The only car that has ever been able to keep up with me on straight line acceleration was a 1300 hp zr1, and even then he couldn't pull away from me.

^ I guess I stand corrected then haha.

I suppose it would be hard to have a car keep up with 180mph

My friend who drives a 400hp is300 said the following after my stage 1 tune a while back:
*BPV whoosh sound on shift*
"Your car just coughed. Or cleared its throat."
