Brake dust on the rear bumper = embedded rust. How do you completely remove the specks? I've clayed over and over again and while it does remove them, it takes some work and not all of them go away. It's pretty noticeable on white
Also how do you get those door handle scratches that are inside the handle? I know you can use some sort of polish, but how do you apply it and get everything out? Also about conditioning weather seals, such as those around the doors/windows. I used 303 on the seals and I ended up with this line of film all the way around the glass where it met the seal. I had to use a lot of elbow grease to get the smearing out. I haven't done it again using 303 or anything else since I just got my windows tinted not long ago and I don't want to ruin the tint. I noticed the seals are starting to wrinkle from dehydration or something, so they need some conditioning before they start to crack.

Whitefox, the bumper keep on using the clay bar it will come off and it will take a ton of time. Suggestion on reducing the time it takes after the clay make sure you put a sealant or wax on it and then keep on top of washing and waxing your car. This will reduce the clay time.
As for the handles polish them out by hand and yes it will take time to get most of it out. After that you can put someone to install clear film on the area so that it will protect from scratches. You can probably spritz your protectant on an applicator pad and carefully dress the seals. Or use this: http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...PROD&ProdID=39 Or a foam applicator pad like this: http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...PROD&ProdID=74 |

I got my OBP STI in june. I haven't gotten a chance to get a good coat of wax on it yet. I does get washed often. I plan to clay it and wax it when it starts to get warmer. I'm guessing a PC would be the best thing to use to get swirls out of it? I've never used one before and its a bit intimidating. I don't want to make the paint worse. Can you wax with the PC, or is it better to hand wax?
Thanks |

See here for the PC videos and removing swirls with it. http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...on=Custom&ID=3 Depending on what you use for wax the PC can be a great tool. |

I've never used your product but I'm curoius now. I started detailing at a body shop years ago. I use chemicals from the Pro guy since that's who supplies that shop
http://www.prowax.com/1_detail_manual.shtml I use a dewalt high speed since I was trained by the painters there. I've started to detail some really high end stuff lately for a friends shop and was wondering if I should invest in some better products. I'm using Franks all purpose and various cleaners. I'm also using the Pro brand swirl eliminator (or 3m brand) and the Pro brand Satin Creme wax for my paint finishing. Am I missing out on some better chemicals? |

Hey guys I have an ,ahem, 2005 s2000 in really good shape, wax it often etc. Just got a UDM basic kit, with multiple pads etc and got a combo polish/sealant. How often should you polish a car? Twice a year? Could you damage the finish if you polish too often?

Matt,
You wont' do any damage by polishing with a UDM/PC/Flex/Cyclo. If you can clean up your paint and correct all the imperfections you should. then just make sure you maintain the car properly, wash it bi weekly/monthly ...if you washing technique is good (clean mitts/drying towels etc) then your paint should hold up quite well. Waxing monthly maybe a good idea as well. GL with your S2000! |

Thanks for te heads up! I just got my buffer and stuff in. I'm going to be testing out the stuff on my tired 1994 sentra commuter car.
The paint is faded, has swirl marks and fine scratches as well as some spider-webbed spots from bird poo.... any suggestions on how I should attack this? I'm thinking wash claybar polish and sealant wax BTW can I use something like scratch X with a buffer? Matt Quote:

You can use Scratch x with the pc . I haven't used scratch x though.
Yes wash, clay, polish and sealant would be what I would go with. Just make sure the polish is broken down and you should be good. Its all in the prep and polishing. GL and post pics. |

I got a question for ya.
I did a "big winter detail" back in October to prepare my car for winter. I used my UDM and did the following: -washed car -mothers clay bar -Klasse all in one polish/sealent (red bottle) -p21s carnauba wax car came out very well with an awesome shine, you can see pics at: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1370769 So basically it's now January, and Ive been taking my car to the local self service high pressure car wash bays. it does an ok job but when I went to go dry my car a few weeks ago, i noticed there was crap (ie: salt) still stuck to the paint, therefore I obviously did not dry the car. Therefore, I'm looking to hand wash it here at home, and afterwards put a nice coat of wax on. is the p21s known to not last very long? I know it has really good reviews. i also have some meguiars nxt techwax, which i may try again. i always had very good results with that. i also have meguiars #26 hi-tech yellow wax and #7 show car glaze. any recommendations on what to apply in order to get some good protection for the rest of winter? |

Sure thing. Show car glaze has no protection its a glaze.
P21S should last about a month or so ...you can tell if the wax is still on the car when you wash it, if it beads nice and tight you should be ok, if not you should put something on it. Any of the above should give you at least a month of protection of course it depends on if you car is sitting in a garage or if its your daily. For more protection you might want to try a sealant like Einszett Glanz or Menzerna FMJ. I have been told by my customers they see about 3 months with FMJ and 3-5 months with Glanz... I feel like I've come from a "production line" shop. You know, we turn out a ton of work so I never took a full day on a detail like I do on these high end cars. Thanks for your input, I'll throw up some pics of some cars next week. |

whats the best way to clean off wax and oils from the windshield?
and is there a good formula to keep it clean? i've tried invisible glass and a few other cleaners with no luck. i still get streaks and splotches even after cleaning under the wipers and the wipers themselves. the only formula i've ever found to work was some i got from price club 10 years ago called four aces. never found it again. |
