BBS CH Wheel 18x8.5 +30 fitment
I have a 2012 WRX Sedan and would like to know how bad would it be to have these wheel on the car at stock height.
Wheels are 18x8.5 +30 and tires I would get for them are 245/35 or if others suggest different size. I have read about the offsets for these cars and how it can be bad for wheel bearings depending on the offset and width of the wheels. Before actually buying these wheels and tires, how much damage will it cause? I am looking at only having these wheels on for about a year or so. I will eventually lower the car with rear fenders rolled, then when I have enough money saved up again I would like to get some 18x9.5 +40(give or take a few mm) wheels and sell the BBS. Thanks!

People go on back and forth IT WILL RUIN YOUR BEARINGS others run offsets like that without any issues. From my understanding the newer design wheel bearings are much better than they used to be. Honestly, wheel bearings aren't a terribly expensive repair and if it cuts their average 90k life down maybe even 20k it's not a huge deal IMO. That being said I think it really has more to do with how you drive. People with stock offsets bust their bearings by driving on the track hard and pushing those components to the limit.

Thanks for the respond. My brother allowed me to put them on my car to see if I like them and for test fitting. I will not be using those tires! I actually like how they sit on the car so far and that its more flush at the moment with the stock height but I think having coilovers next will set it off nicely. Again these are REAL BBS CH 18x8.5 +30 wheels.

:-) Don't know why I put that end oh well. But thanks for the reply! I plan to go with the 255/35 tires since its 1.2% of the stock set up from reading the wheel fitment guide.
I am going to roll my rear fenders now just in case i want to go wider in the future and do plan to keep the ride height reasonable since I would like to still take it on some dirt roads. |

You'll definitely need more tire if you want to take it on some dirt roads.
