Default Warning! Stolen wheels alert! Prodrive GC-06 British Gold

Hello everyone,

I need to make an announcement that a set of British Gold Prodrive GC-06 Wheels in 5 x 100 17" x 7.5" 48mm offset were stolen with a near new set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's in 225/45/17" size. These were being stored at my local body shop, and were stolen from there. Not only was there a crime involved but... there might be injury resulting from these wheels. One of them was powdercoated no less than 3 or 4 times. They were trying to color match it to the rest of the wheels. The Embossed lettering around the wheel is abraded from the repeated stripping and powder coating and the gold color is darker than it should be. These may have been for sale on the market between September, all the way until present.

If anyone has any information, please PM me or EMAIL me or something. I'd like for justice to be served.

Thanks.

Good luck in getting your wheels back. If you know they have been for sale from Sept. - Present, why haven't you contacted the authorities?

And how was there injury involved? You lost me there.
Again, good luck getting your wheels back.

i think he is stating that the style wheel in question was only sold from sept-present, and im gonna assume by injury he means the person that stole them will get injured......

Good luck either way.....death to all thieves

Sorry Jay.

Here's some more background. The 4 wheels are being replaced by an insurance company. One of them was scuffed when I was rear-ended back in August and they couldn't get an accurate color match after several tries. The GC-06 as we all know is out of production and I couldn't obtain 1 new wheel. Therefore, the shop ordered me a new set of wheels from Gruppe-S that just came in yesterday. I went to the shop this morning to inspect my new wheels to make sure they arrived unharmed and in the correct sizing, color, etc. The shop was to re-use my tires, Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's and they went to pull my old wheels from storage to get my tires and they were missing. The insurance company wanted my old wheels back since they paid to replace them and told the body shop to hold onto them until my new ones come in.

As far as injury goes, one of the Prodrive wheels was powder coated 4 times or more and may have weakened the wheel. The wheel repair place stated something like a 900 deg. bake temp. So if someone was unsuspecting and bought them and auto-crossed on them or something, I'd hate to see anyone get hurt due to a failure.

Umm, was the storage area broken into?

If not, start asking the employee's of the shop, who knew the wheels where there, knew the insurance company was taking them, etc..

How would anyone else just "break into" a stroage area and score the set. It was probably an inside job, and if in fact, I would hope the person knows enough not to try and sell them, cause he will loose his job as well.

Nice new wheels, did you receive compensation for your old wheels?

Yes, the insurance company bought me these. (They were buying me these anyway) One of my Prodrives was scratched when I was hit in an accident. They tried to color match it and powdercoated it. Couldn't get it right in 4 -5 tries. Then the adjuster said to get 1 replacement. GC-06d's were out of production so they bought me 4 equal value replacements. I was supposed to reuse my old tires, they were left on the Prodrives at the body shop but they got stolen with the wheels over the past 5 months at some point.

So the body shop paid for the tires, (I paid the difference between the size I had 225/45/17 and the size I got 235/40/17) and now I have my new Volks with new tires for $40.00 out of pocket.
