Default Rotating tires on an AWD car...

Is the frequence of the rotation required any lower than on a FWD or RWD?

No. Read your manual.

IIRC, I believe the manual states every 7,500 miles.

Your dealer should look at his manual.

I don't but I'm lazy. So far, wear has been quite even. Our cars put power down pretty evenly, so the only excess of wear would be the front from on-power + steering. Well, that and the front end is slightly heavier. Unless you take different routes to and from work, wear should be similar on both sides. If you were just doing all left turns, then you'd expect more wear on one side.

Wear is just lot less of an issue with awd than it is with fwd or rwd where all the power is going to a single set of tires.

As well, rotating may depend on how you buy tires. On a fwd car, you could get away with running through 2 or maybe even 3 sets of tires on the front before you ever wore down the rear tires. It could be similar with a high powered rwd car. You could rotate and eventually buy 4 tires or just replace the two high wear ones every so often with no rotation.

My practice is to rotate tires and change oil every 5k miles. Nice even wear on all four tires.
