I just gotta ask, how do you get the Yakima to mount in the rear like that??? Mine spread is kinda short

Well, the silver one is mine and I just followed the installation instructions that came with the rack. The bike sits in it just fine (snowboards just barely fit). The question is, why did you install yours so close? Do you have a different model rack?

more non impreza's should come out to the meets.....such a rare chance to see the legacy wagons(even sedans)up close....

They must have changed the molding for 2000. The instructions for my Yakima rack have me mounting to the window frames for the door. There is no way I could mount to the fixed side window in the back without doing some surgery. I'm kinda suprised you can on the older cars. I was staring at a car going down the highway the other day, and their rack was mounted just like yours.

The longer bars would be nice for windsurfers and kayaks!

If you get a chance, send me a close up of how that rack clips in to the rear. I would be interested to see how it works.
