Too bad this isn't for our motors. 33psi on 4g63.

Ran 5-30 Castrol syntec for 75000 miles on my green and it only broke because reassembly on my new block had blocked the banjo bolt feed filter.

their map is pretty bias too. See castrol product PDS and they show none of these mean while they meet all the criteria they are looking for.

Also, Mobil 1 10w30 has terrible, awful shear properties.

It turns into water. Do not ever, ever use M1 10w30 in a turbocharged application.

RP is even worse. That stuff burns even the xpr.

That should work. Most of us that have wrinkle red had it come on our cars from the factory

On a high level, it's definitely a good read. On a low level, don't take this advice on a daily driven STI. A 4G63 loves heavy thick oil... without it they tend to develop lifter tick.

Don't use ANY Mobil 1 on a turbo charged engine. It turns to water within the first few hundred miles. It cannot handle the heat and pressure of a turbo charged motor at all.

Truth. I had about 2 quarts vanish just driving to/from Maryland. It's overpriced garbage.

Good idea. Rotella T6 was mainly designed for diesel engines. It handles high heat and high pressure just fine. It also has magnesium additives in it which aren't great for your cat if you're burning the oil, but helps with the longevity of the oil even under higher temperatures. It meets or exceeds all of the specifications Subaru has for oil in the 2011s.

To be honest, I had a lot of problems with shearing with most synthetic oils that I tested over the last year I had my 2007. I had the best luck with Valvoline conventional oil. My 2011 runs T6 and it hasn't consumed a drop. I will of course update you all if that changes.

Kids drinking hand sanitizer?

Please, no one ever do this. I get it. There's ethanol in there and that could get you nice and drunk. There's also isopropyl alcohol (think, rubbing alcohol) and that **** will kill you.

Sure, you could eventually get really pure ethanol from that little tiny bottle by repeatedly mixing with salt and straining it out. You're still an idiot if you consume this **** though.

Oil requirements vary on the specs of the engine build and the amount of heat and pressure that it will see. The Evo comes with Mobil 1 from the factory. I ran Mobil 1 & Mobil 1 High Mileage the entire time I had the Evo. I sold it with 95k miles on the original motor making +440whp for 60k miles and +500whp for the last 30k.

Some extra reading on oil:
http://forums.evolutionm.net/evo-eng...nal-turbo.html

Also keep in mind that Forced Performance is a turbo company. They want you to run that oil so you don't blow up your turbo. They don't care about your motors. lol

Definitely not. By the time you factor in the amount of salt you'd need to split out the junk and the fact that the contamination levels are still unacceptable for automotive use, you'd be spending a lot more than whatever the e85 gas price is right now.

I dont mean to act or sound like a troll but Ive been following this thread for a while. Purely for entertainment, the info and knowledge you guys put on here is awesome and very helpful.

I live upstate near Poughkeepsie but I wish I brought my car to work today so I could join your meet and meet you guys. I work for metro north at the Tarrytown HQ right near the station. You guys seem like a fun crowd to hang with.
