Default HELP- car loosing power !!!!!!

so i start my car up this morning VERY COLD OUT around 30 degrees F and i notice the exhaust is very quiet and the intake is noticeably louder.....I didn't think anything of it until i merged onto the highway about 20 minutes later and the car wouldn't pull to redline only till around 5k

I drive a 2000 2.5 RS impreza 5spd has run mobil syn 5w-30 since new.....never had any problems up until now

borla gen4 header, 2.5 piping high flow cat, flowmater muff and aem short ram

if anyone can help please let me know ASAP
i suspect a small exhaust leak somewhere (but cant tell b/c exhaust sounds quiter) or replace the spark plugs????

tia

Any CEL?

More intake noise would have me under hood checking the intake over for a loose clamp or anything out of place.

Hope this helps.

Here is my experience with exhaust and CELs

I gutted my up-pipe and installed a TBE did everything myself. Car is catless. I have a PDE DP, which allows for the O2 sensor to be installed and run CEL free. My brother was is in town for a visit so I have to take him out for a ride to show off the car.
I get a flashing Cel that shuts down the car I have to pull over. I had a bad feeling about the EGT sensor in the up-pipe. I start pulling fuses and somehow make it home. Get on the board and get the info on the Radio Shack resistor fix then remove the sensor from up-pipe and plug it with a bolt. Head down to see a friend with a ODB2 code scanner and all 3 codes came from the EGT clear the codes and with the resistor in place the car has ran perfect ever since.

Here is a close up shot of the rear of my DP where the O2 sensor threads in.

i reset the ecu today and it fixed it for about 15 minutes

now it just does it on and off

the exhaust will loose all noise and the intake takes over and the engine cuts out about 1500 rpm too early

and then 5 minutes later it's fine

When was the last time you changed your plugs, air filter or fuel filter. It could easily be one of the three I would check the fuel filter first I changed mine at about 20k and it had all kinds of crap in it.

you might wanna check your exhaust system? maybe a burnt Cat? these things will cause poor idling poor acceleration etc etc, like you see in my last post ive had a problem with power lost, i just recently reseted my ECU and it was driving ok but now it feels like its back to squar 1, i dunno maybe its just me, im gona bring it in to the Lab on monday and get it scanned and see if anything comes up, good luck man

Winter formula gas is sometimes a problem for performance oriented vehicles, and especially for forced induction engines.
Add a gallon of toluene to the tank and see if it perks up...if so, problem isolated, if not...no harm done.
New plugs, air&fuel filters are a good idea, too.

air filter is brand new
im pretty sure the plugs were replaced about 10k ago

fuel filter could be a possibility
also there is a very loud rattling from the cat so i think that could be it...but it isnt all the time only once in a while maybe every 2 outta 10 miles

saturday we are gonna tear the cat off and check it out maybe ill pick up a fuel filter ahead of time
