I think this model year might be over since I was told by a SDC dealership yesterday that they cannot order a WRX anymore. It would make sense, there are only a handful of unsold WRXs and zero base STis in the entire state.

Oh well, I guess I'll just buy something else then.

I'll ask another one, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I'm in NJ, I dunno what's true since when I was reading last years thread I saw that many people "ordered" cars after the deadline and then were given 2013s instead.

I'm not basing last year's close date on anything since there have been multiple rumors that this is going to be a short model year anyways. Who knows when they'll close it this year? It might not be until later like it was last year, or this dealership might be correct and it might be closed now and any orders that go in now will be given whatever the 2014 car is or just refunded their deposit.

I read a few pages back as well that someone had a similar answer from a dealership that they were trying to order from out west so there must be something going on.

There's a post where owners have confirmed the differences between STI lights and the footwell illumination kit. Basically the STI has "courtesy lights" which act differently than the footwell illumination kit. They even use different lighting components.

See post #10 in that link if you want to add the footwell illumination kit on top of the courtesy lights that come with it.

That would kinda suck to be bumped to a 2014. Not that I know what it's gonna look like or anything but I just don't like to buy the first model year of anything be it a car or electronics. Look what happened to people with the 08's.

See that would suck to be told 6-8 weeks and have it be 12 already. I prepared myself for the worse case and I'm not expecting it before 14 weeks. If it comes in before that then it's just a bonus.

Dealer called today and said they had a bunch of cars come in but mine wasn't on the truck. Should be here Monday hopefully, but I'll pick up Friday.

An STi also drove by me today with the SPT exhaust and it sounded awesome so I decided to get it. Dealer already started the paperwork so I'll pay cash for it separately but after hearing him gun it through the underpass I was convinced its what I want.

5 days and a wake up :-)

I just clarified this with my dealership today.

He laughed at me.

Hey guys...I'm starting the shopping process tomorrow. I'm going to pull the trigger and order a 2013 SWP premium sedan. Seems like truecar.com is spot on based on this thread? I pretty much am going to feel out my local dealers to see who I feel most comfortable with!

Order Date: 11/23/12
VON Date: 11/23/12

Have not received any other details from my dealer yet. They couldn't give me an accurate time table at the time of order, but my order sheet had an ETA of March. Hoping that my current car holds out until then and that I will see my WRX sometime near the beginning of March!

And if you don't want to wait you could always just do what I did and stalk dealer inventories until you see something close to what you want and jump on that. Seems like there aren't a lot of WRX's up your way but I did see this one:

http://www.cartersubarushoreline.com...cfa8f096f0.htm

If history repeats itself I would expect to see dealers get a new crop of "in transit" vehicles sometime in the next week or two.

Yeah that one looks like what I'm looking for. Except the fact that its limited, but I'd be willing to jump if they got the finances in my ballpark.

What's the best way of viewing in transit vehicles? Is there a site? Do I have to call the dealers individually? If I can see in transit cars, I might be able to sweet-talk my dealer into selling me one of those early...

You can start by going to subaru.com and searching for dealers in your area. Then there's a link to view inventory. All the cars are mixed up in there and some will just have a little "In Transit" icon next to them.

I'd give those guys a call and see if they are willing to deal. I imagine if you call them and say you have an order placed with another dealer and what can you do to get me to cancel that order and get this car from you instead they would jump at the opportunity to make it work for you.

Just got off the phone w/ my dealership. Said 10-12 weeks from my Jan 7 order date.

For everyone ordering this month, at least we will get ours right when spring/summer is hitting

I'm going to try to just forget about my order for awhile. I'll check back for an update with him in late Feb.

In the meantime, I will fap to all others getting their vehicles
