Suggest a better tire (size or brand)...
Can you suggest a better tire for me? Currently leaning heavily toward the Advan Neova AD07 in either 235/45, 245/40 or 245/45 using the stock 17x8 rims. Car sees about 12k miles a year of aggressive driving, a few autox's, and maybe an HPDE. Rarely driven in wet conditions. Handling is my utmost concern. I don't want a tire that will suddenly 'give out' at the limit. I will also want a full road-hazard warranty similar to the one I am used to at Discount Tire.
Two issues: 1) Would a 245 on a 17x8 be too much of a squeeze (damage tire/actually worse handling)? 2) Being that I only desire about 12k miles out of the tire, could I go with something like an RA1 or better (assuming RA1 is better than AD07)?

Yah, it does sound odd...I just didn't know if someone was gonna suggest an R-compound that would not be able to get a warranty. I don't even know it discount carries the Advans
Still looking for suggestions |
