Default Disabling Airbag Warning Light After Seat Install

I'm about to install a racing seat into my WRX, and I was wondering how I will go about preventing the airbag light to come on. I remember reading something once about plugging in a resistor of some type into the factory airbag wiring harness that's connected to the seat?

Also, if the car senses one of the airbags are missing, does it disable the rest of the bags in the car?

ok this is going to sound dumb but it works.. or at least it has in all of my other cars because i havent done it in the subaru yet... take your gauge cluster out and place a piece of electrical tape over the rear of the cluster where the lense is located.. I know it sounds ghetto but it worked on my other cars...

You'll find this thread interesting. There is a resistor fix described there. I don't know about whether the car disables the other airbags if it senses one missing.

Using the 3.3 ohm resistor does a perfect job of faking the Airbag system into thinking the seat side airbag is still connected. If you do trigger the airbags, the resistor will burn out when the airbags are fired, but it won't keep the other airbags from firing. And it's a lot easier to put in a resistor than it is to remove the cluster to cover the light. Plus you'll still have a watning light that will alert you to problems in the SRS system or other airbags.

Here's a related question:

What is the correct procedure for removing the stock seats, to ensure that the airbag does not accidentally get deployed in the process?
