You cannot believe a fictional character that never existed survived being thrown into a fictional monster that never existed.

I love star wars as much as the next guy, but you do know its fiction right.

Interesting article on the design of Chewie. Some cool sketches.

It's also generally accepted that the Star Wars universe can, and will, contort reality as necessary to sell product.

So the cloned "son" of an intergalactic bounty hunter that fell into a giant venus flytrap worm-thingy in the middle of a desert-covered planet when his jetpack was damaged after a kid with telepathic abilities cut his laser gun in half with a laser sword on top of a floating skiff is "reality."

Whatever you're smoking, I'll have some.

In the Star Wars universe it is. "Appropriating" a back story to justify his reappearance because he's too popular of a character is what makes it a stretch.

Stranger things have happened. Look how many times they've brought Darth Maul "back" in the comics. They had to bring him back because the writers of the (horrendously outlandish) Dark Empire series decided he survived. It would've been kind of sucky if they didn't at least give his survival a backstory.

Or, they could just engage their imaginations for a few minutes and create an interesting character on their own.

Tell ya what, spanky. Why don't you write up a character and mail it on into LucasFilm. I'm sure they'll see the error of their ways in resuscitating such a popular character in expanded literature, kill all running stories, center everything around your Muhammad of originality, and pay you in doubloons.

Alternatively, you could get the **** over it.
